Does this kit include the retaining pin (part # 970223)?

Yes. I believe it does. I was going to upload a photo but don’t know how to do it. The individual parts in sent in the kit are not separately numbered so I can’t confirm that it is the exact part your are looking for. The kit has a retaining pin and two of the horseshoe shaped retaining rings. Also, (unless it’s lost) you could just wipe the grease off the retaining pin from your appliance and use it again since it doesn’t get a lo lot of direct wear.
