Quiet not silent 👍
Great option for 'turning the world down a bit' rather than blocking out all noise.Good for those with sensory triggers who still need to be able to hear the door/ phone etc.Perfect for working in a shared space when you want to block out noise but not listen to music. Also great for sleeping at noisy hotel / snoring partner etc. but allows you to hear alarms etc.

These are amazing
I got these to lower the volume for an exam that I had failed 3 times previously. It was in a college and there were so many noisy distractions. I could hear them but they didn't make me anxious as the ear plugs drowed them out to a level I could barely hear them. I was able to concentrate and stay calm and I ended up passing my exam. 100% buy these if external noises make you anxious or you get disturbed by them. These are fantastic.

Neat portable solution to noise misery...
Twice in the past I've found myself living in extremely noisy neighbourhoods. I'm not sure that people who've never experienced this can fully appreciate quite how dreadful it can be. If you're feeling flush, you might go out to try to escape the racket for a while - but if times are tight, you feel trapped and powerless.Luckily I sought out a quiet locality - and relocated there some years ago. But I'll never forget those times. I have to say, they'd have been much better if I'd had a pair of Flare Earshades back then. They do a marvellous job of blocking noise.Nowadays fortunately I'll only be using these heavy duty ear plugs sporadically - but having the noise pollution experiences I've had, I greatly appreciate them. They arrive in well designed paper recyclable packaging that looks graphic and contemporary and come with a neat little drawstring bag for storage. The earfoams - one pair's supplied in the pack - should last around a month and require replacement. Made from heat-resistant memory foam, spares are presently available on the Flare Audio website. In view of the hard, aluminium component in these, they're not designed for sleep but the company does produce a version that is.

Connector falls off
I placed in one ear and after use i tried to pull out but the handle or pull stick came out and left the plug in my ear canal. My wife had to use a set of tweezers to pull out - extremely unhappy with this set of ear plugs ! Beware !

You need to know how to insert
Good earplugs, good for concertsThe canal shape is made to fit like a custom so for those reviews about bad fit, it's probably because you've been inserting them the wrong way. Everyone has ear canals that bend different ways, the curved shape isn't always facing forward. An easy way if you don't already have custom in ear monitors (where you can already see how your canals are bent) is to just put a finger near your ear opening and turning it to see which direction it goes in (if that makes sense) Whichever direction your fingertip faces is ghe way you should be inserting these plugs. You have to compress the plugs, then insert in the same direction. These plugs arent true customs which is why that method should work.

Performs well, but style overshadows substance.
The marketing team behind this product gets full marks. The design concept and packaging for the Ear Shade product is quite fetching. The outer packaging is completely recyclable and provides instructions on the back, cutting down on paper. The colour scheme is warm and the font is friendly and inviting.I'm someone who uses the standard orange foam tips that you get from the pharmacy for sleeping. I've never used noise cancelling ear inserts for the day, but it's summer and construction abounds. I will say that these do a remarkable job at turning down surrounding noise, whilst still allowing you to hear very local sounds e.g your phone.Ear Shade come in two pieces, a set of memory foam tip's that fit in your ear canal's and a set of aluminum pin's that fit into the foam tip's, which allow you to guide the foam tips into your ears. The package also contains a small carrying case and tiny bag for the case to go into. Because of their small size and design, you could easily put these in your pocket, a knapsack or purse without fear of causing bulk. Ear Shade are absolutely portable! It would appear they come in a vast array of colours to choose from, although it would appear there's no pricing available for replacements as of yet. (The company advises replacing the tips once a month). So yeah, they do what exactly what company claims they do. They're highly stylized and are well made. But from my perspective, the price point puts them out of reach for most consumers, struggling with basic needs in a post pandemic world. I think to make this a more appealing purchase, the company should add at least 1 more set of tips to the package. I don't know anyone who's going to spend $50.00 on a non electronic noise reduction product every month.

Not for large ears.
FLARE rep told me this would work compared to my experience with one of their older products. These didn't. Their idea of "large" and my "large" differ. Small and slid into my ear canal too far.

Relief when the world is too loud
These little earplugs have made a far bigger difference than I could have imagined. They come in cute cardboard recyclable packaging, comes with a hard carrying case that fits in the included small soft carrying bag. The earplugs themselves come in two parts, the aluminum posts and the memory foam plugs. The plugs can be replaced and are recommended to be replaced once a month. I couldn’t find any replacements available in stock on Amazon but on the flare audio site they are $15.To start you need to put the posts in the memory foam plugs. You can put them directly in your ear or if you find that uncomfortable hold them in your hand for a couple of minutes to warm them up first and they are easier to insert. I find them a little uncomfortable to start but as they warm up in your ear they become very comfortable. My ears are on the smaller side so these just fit but if you have really small ears these might be too big. These also do not block out all sounds, they bring the volume of the world down by quite a bit but you can still hear what is going on around you.I’ve never liked loud noises and have always sought out quiet but due to a recent illness I now become overwhelmed and confused when there are too many competing noises or things are generally too loud that make it so I can’t function. These earplugs have made a big difference. I can put these in to bring down the overall noise level a lot but I can still hear if someone calls my name as well as what’s going on around me, so I don’t feel unsafe wearing this out and about. I really like that you only need to replace the memory foam part and find the cost to be quite reasonable. I would highly recommend these to anyone who needs to turn down life’s volume.
