I take this product first thing in the morning to help control the blood sugar spike of my fruit smoothie. It seems to digest easily on an empty stomach and works effectively.Sports research makes this in the perfect strength, and I like that they combine it with coconut oil to aid in digestion. I don’t notice any unpleasant side effects. I plan on taking this product consistently alongside many other sports research products.

I took this Berberine for about 6 months. I didn't lose any weight, didn't feel any different. However, subsequent lab work revealed that my A1c had come down to 5.6. This was soon after the holidays when my sugar intake was high. So, I don't know whether or not this can be attributed to the Berberine or whether it's the result of something else, but I'm encouraged to order another couple of bottles and continue with it until the next lab work is due. Additionally my total cholesterol came down from a high of 394 to 277 with no lifestyle or dietary changes - just the Berberine.Despite some other reviews, I've had no side effects from these capsules, no stomach upset, nothing. I usually take two in the evening along with my turmeric extract as I've read that the two can enhance the effects of the other. My experience, however, won't necessarily be your experience. None of this stuff is 'exact science'. Legally, they can't make claims. Neither am I making claims. I'm still in the experimental stage, recording my observations. You just have to try it. I do trust the Sports Research brand name. Inactive ingredients tend to be cleaner than most. I think it's expensive but research suggests that this isn't one you should take for more than a couple of years anyway.

I just received this supplement the other day, so too soon to tell if it’s making a difference. Not problem with any side effects. I’m sure to take the daily dose with food. My daughter made these as a recommendation for me.
