Conklin #6 JoWo Stainless Steel Nib (Black) - Medium Nib

Replaced a stub nib in my Conklin All American to a Medium one. Writes perfectly now.

These are not the same as Jowo #6 nibs. They are lying. The threads are NOT the same as my Jowo #6 nibs and will not fit into any of my pens. Do not purchase these.

This is a decent nib. I got it as a replacement for an Estie nib. The housing and feed are not compatible with Esterbrook Estie pens, but the nib portion is. Fortunately it was only the metal nib I needed.The nib did need some work--and given how they are packaged, I'm only surprised it didn't need more. It came in a plastic bag inside a paper mailer, not real protection at all.The tines were very close to aligned, but they were *way* too tight. With a fresh nib, it's a good idea to floss them with a thin bit of brass shim to remove and left over metal shavings that might interfere with flow. The end of the nib was so tight it was scraping material off a .002mm brass shim. I loosened the tines a little and nudged them into alignment, and it worked beautifully.

I bought this Medium nib to replace the 1.1 stub on my Conklin All American. The stub sucks. The medium instantly made the All American one of my favorite pens. Very easy to install. Fairly wet, no dry start or skips.

I swapped this out on my Conklin Duragraph pen and the improvement is very apparent. Much better line and flow, and the black just looks sweet. Plus it was a drop-in replacement.

The biggest problem with Conklin Fountain Pens is their nib and feed. It is a hit and miss even with a replacement trying to find one that does have a good, long lasting, ink flow. I’ve not used the replacement long enough to tell if it has a reliable ink flow.
