I've gotten used to these kind of tactics in television advertising but I am furious to open a 3M product (a company whose products I have used and trusted for years) to find: Step #2 from the "USER MANUAL" : WIPE YOUR OBJECT WITH ADHESION PROMOTOR AND WAIT FOR DRYING TIME OF 90 - 90 SECONDS. Are you kidding me? Now I have to spend even more money to buy an adhesion promotor? I think not - there are plenty of great adhesive products on the market these days - I bought this because it was the small, narrow size I wanted. Guess I will start cutting the larger tape to size like I have been doing. Yes, I can return it - not going to waste my gas and time going to the drop-off place. if Adhesion promotor was required, why didn't they bother to put it the description of the product on the web page? Because they don't want you to know that you have just been "taken" and will have to spend more money and waste more time before you can use it. Disgusting.

Installed some nono curtain brackets but they kept falling off. Taped up the nono curtain brackets with this 3M double stick tape and they are rock solid.

Could be a little stickier.

I've used VHB tape before for cabinet and store fixture installs, so I am a little familiar with the product and what it can do. I was excited to order this tape and give it a try, and I can say that even coming out of the plastic bag, it's very sticky, even on the edge.The tape roll basically says 3M all over it, but a few of the other things included make me question if this is really 3M tape.First, the primer packets to promote adhesion don't say 3M anywhere on them. And one thing is for certain - if 3M makes something, it's going to say 3M on it. The instructions on the back of the packet are also a bit 'English as a second language': "Especially applying on plastic surface like the polypropylene (PP)." That wasn't written by a native english-speaker at 3M.The identifying sticker on the bag that the roll of tape comes in says 'NEW USA' and then 'MADE IN CHINA'. I'm not excluding the fact that 3M has factories in China as a possibility, but I don't know about them if they exist.Then there is the instruction insert, the '3M User Manual'. "Cleaned your object with a 50:50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water." On the back of it: 'Made of 3M'.Let's be honest, this didn't come from 3M, their technical writers don't allow grammatical errors into the packaging of retail products. Having said that, it may be useful on its own, but you have to look at the price differently if it's an imitation product. I don't have any other VHB here at the moment to do any objective testing against, so I can't say for sure how well this compares to the real thing.Based on the questions I have about this being genuine and since I am not sure how well it can substitute for the real article, I am giving it 3 stars. It's some sticky tape, but I don't want to pay 3M pricing for products that didn't come from a 3M factory.
