Red but exactly same as black one
Fit my Aprilaire 4004 perfect. Was worried when it arrived red but it was in a 4004 bag so I took out the old black in-line strainer and compared before inserting the new red one. Identical size although I had no way to count the holes. Worked fine.

Good Fit for Part
The Parts were different in color, red, vice black, but apparently had no bearing on the operation of the part. It looked and seemed to be made the same as the original one. When, I finally received this parts, after an 8 day extended wait, I opened the package. The package looked to be dirty, and folded many times, however the parts were in good condition. Once I popped in the part and closed up the line without any issues and turned on the water line.I could have closed this line up 8 days earlier if I had received the part on time. This part was not a prime shipment at the time when the order was placed however, when I checked later it was a prime shipment part which is two (2) day shipment. Any way you cut it, this should not have taken nearly 2 weeks. The original shipping time was 5 days. The shipping label shows it came out of the Kentucky, however it actually shipped out of Houston, Texas. I really don't know if they used a 20 mule team to ship this part or the mules died on the way, but this was on of the worse shipping experiences I have had to deal with.I am giving 4 stars for the part only as it works and minus 1 for the shipping.

4004, Aprilaire Humidifier Drain Type In-Line Strainer
We had a reputable company come out & service our furnace & Aprilaire unit. However, we just found out that they took this part out & NEVER REPLACED IT! How bad is that, to have to go back & take things apart to check & make sure these folks are doing their job!?!?Next time, we'll be standing there, watching every move they make, IF there is a next time!Now that our Aprilaire unit is screwed. We needed to get parts for it. I found most of the parts we needed from the "Buy It Now Store" here on Amazon.I was pleasantly surprized to find out that since we were ordering more than just one part, they combined shipping, giving us a great shipping rate! Hope this is worth the price...
Product not as pictured. Had an extra section beyond what was shown in pictures and would not fit inside Aprilaire 4004 solenoid. Fortunately I was able to trim extra portion off with a knife and then it did fit the solenoid and functioned correctly. Not sure if wrong part was packaged up but all numbers on packaging matched description. Value for money will be determined if new 4004 solenoid last for more than one season of use.

I replaced both the solenoid and filter. My filter was a gold one. At first it didn’t fit in my copper tubing. I had to slightly bore it out. I didn’t find an old filter; I assume there never was one.

Do Not Buy
Too large. Does not fit model 560, which is listed above! I also received a red one, not black like what is pictured. The strainer I installed last year was black and much smaller. Do not trust this seller!
