Much lighter than my first anchor!
Kayak/fish 3 local rivers. Love this anchor! Design is much better than my first anchor which is basically a 10 pound ball of steel. Didn't want the extra weight nor having the ball of steel skipping along the river bottom allowing me to move. I like to paddle back toward the waterfalls on the rivers and set anchor. Have caught the most trout by fishing this way. Purchased this lightweight anchor even after I read the cons in most reviews. For $35 I think it is worth every penny I spent. The price of any outdoor adventure equipment is outrageous these days. As for the storage bag which comes with it, that bag is not worth $1 because it is so thin. I had a bag it would fit in that is 5 times thicker and constructed of ripstop. However, I have still given this anchor 5 stars. Reasons: 1. the design is awesome. I step on the anchor, it goes right into the sand. It holds tight not allowing my yak to move an inch. 2. steel thick enough that the anchor should never bend or break, only weighing 1.5 pounds!! 3. it comes with over 16 feet of rope but the bonus is 2 LOCKING clips (1 on each end). So the cheap bag that comes with holds no weight in my review. Let's talk about all the razor sharp edges which are getting so many negative comments. For me this was not a deal breaker. We can't have it all folks or this anchor may cost $75. I'm a 62 year old female landscaper. I am always doing something outside all day long. I took my palm sander and placed a 120 grit pad on it. Gently ran over all the sharp edges I could reach to smooth them. Worked like a charm. Took my dremel, placed a 120 grit pad on it to reach the smaller sharp edges. Also sanded the edges of the step/push pad at the top. Took approximately 30 minutes to get rid of all the sharp edges. As stated earlier, worth $35 to me!!! 5 stars.

works ok, will rust if used in salt water
works ok in soft sand bottom. i wouldnt recommend for salt water, already starting to rust and only used it twice in salt water.

No joke...this anchor means business!
I purchased different types of Seadoo anchors for each of our skis. This one means business and I cannot wait to use it!! Great value for the money and comes with its own easy storage pouch. Heavy duty stainless clips for both the anchor and latching on to the ski. As you can see from the design...it intends to dig into the sand and HOLD TIGHT with the top section perfectly sized for using your foot to bury it into the sand. I've no doubt that it will work great in both the lake and the ocean/intracoastal with the currents!!

Longer rope and it wouold be a 5
I liked the look of this item right out of the box, well made anchor. I especially liked the theory behind the spikedesign. The supplied rope was of a durable type and connectors were well made. That being said this is a veryspecific use item, only designed as stated for sandy beaches on lake swimming areas or ocean beaches. You’re notgoing to pushing this anchor into anything other than sand. The rope although heavy and of a good quality is onlyabout sixteen feet long, I would have liked it be a bit longer to be able to place the spike on the beach above thewave action. So if you plan on using it in sand and the rope is of sufficient length for your needs, then I would highlyrecommend this item.

Rough, too lightweight
I am pretty sure that I would cut myself on this anchor if I tried to use it on my boat. It's not well finished and there are sharp edges. I used heavy work gloves to handle it; wouldn't want to do that with bare hands or when it was wet. Not sure how I would be able to get this into hard-packed sand, because there is not place to safely grip it to push it in. The bag is flimsy and it feels like it will quickly cut through the bag. The bag needs to be heavy duty nylon like Cordura or similar. The point perhaps needs to be sharp so that it penetrates with sand, but the other end should be smooth and easier to handle. I though about gluing a neoprene or foam rubber pad to the top to protect my hands and give me something to push on safely, but there's a limit to how much I'm willing to modify this product. It's a good design but the implementation is cheap and flawed.

Simple effective design
This sand anchor is simple to use if you're in shallow water with a sandy base and are wearing shoes that can protect your foot, or have something else solid to lay across the top plate, to push the anchor down. Its tip and all angle cuts are very sharp. It's a good idea to pick it up by the top plate and/or use fishing gloves when handling the anchor. It comes with a case and I put some plastic in the bottom to keep the sharp tip from poking through the fabric or me. I have a sit-on-top fishing kayak so it's easy for me to get out on sand bars to use this but I shorten the line as needed witj a loop knot to reduce the chance of my kayak drifting into deeper water with a stronger current when the tide is running. The anchor is not very difficult to pull and twist out and the hollow tube allows you to easily rinse it out before you take off again for more fun.
