This dictionary is great for increasing your vocabulary. I am a native speaker of French and English and there are words that one forgets if they do not use them. This dictionary helps build vocabulary for writing and reading, but if you want to know the technical terms for a species of bird or simply become acquainted with the plethora of terms for a species of tree then this dictionary is a must-have. The book is well organized by category and you can easily use the la table des matières to find what you need. If you are someone who wants to build vocabulary and understand the technical terms then this dictionary is for you. A great purchase.I will tell you that is geared more toward Parisien French than Quebec French. Some terms may be different in Quebec than in France. Regardless it will give you a wonderful foundation.

This is a really good dictionary, and you can learn both languages by the same time, if neither French or English is your family language! Also excellent for school children as well. Highly recommended!
