Heavy-duty and sturdy SS ice cube trays
These old-time trays work great! - much better than plastic!I'm sure that attempting to use the handle to break the cubes free before separating the bottom SS tray from the ice is the reason some users break handles. You only need to run a little cold tap water on the bottom of the SS tray (don't get any water on the ice itself) to break the bottom tray free from the ice inside - and I mean very little. You are not trying warm the bottom of the tray enough to melt the bottom layer of ice within the tray! - only to change the temperature of the tray a little from the ice inside so that the SS expands slightly while the ice does not. The ice should remain entirely frozen and dry throughout the removal process. Sometimes you will hear a pop when the tray and ice separate, but you will always be able to slide the ice as a solid unit within the tray after separation. Only then is it time to hold the far end of the SS cube section down while pulling the handle back to crack out the cubes. Don't overfill the tray with water - a little more than 1/2 full is fine.

Fantastic ice tray
I love this ice tray! It is durable and will last a long time. Remember to run the ice tray under water before raising the lever to release the ice. Ice removal is quick and easy. There is no metallic taste. I would recommend.

Mostly Clean Ice Breaks
Don’t forget to run the bottom of the tray under cool water to dislodge the ice from the bottom of the tray!*IF* you do this, you’ll get great cubes, most of the time. A few of them will still splinter, but it’s kind of random; not a big deal.If you just try to crack it raw out of the freezer? Well, physics & chemistry are better at this than you are, and they will win this fight. So don’t do that!My only—very slight—ding against this, is that I refill it the same way, every time, and also dislodge the tray, every time, and sometimes—rarely, but often enough to mention—it just smashes all the ice into splinters. No rhyme or reason I can see.But since I use this for just myself and a few guests, it doesn’t bother me. :-)

great but difficult to remove
these are great yet there is a specific timing involved in leaving out frozen cubes and then removing them from tray - its kinda tricky and the full cube often does not cone outleave it too long & water mixes in with cubes

Quality
We were looking into the bottom of our water glasses and finding white crap from our silicone molds all the time. I did some research and found out there is a lot af bad stuff in our pots ,pans and now ice trays. After thinking about it for a while, we remembered old school ice trays our grandparents had and looked on amazon. We still think the price is to high. Should be no more than maybe $25 for both of them. We decided to splurge after reading reviews. Very sturdy handles do not even flex when waiting one minute and a half. Ice comes out perfectly with no draining just like grandmas. We will be getting more of these.

A great stainless steel ice tray!
I am so glad that I found this! I couldn't believe that my ice cubes are large! I though that they would be smaller!

Ice cube maker tray
These heavy duty ice cube maker trays are just like the ones we had when I was a kid in the 50’s and 60’s. I love ‘em. Most people say let them sit out for a few minutes after they are frozen, before lifting the handle to break up the ice. I just run cool water over the bottom of the tray and quickly flip them upright then lift the handle to break the ice up. That’s how we always did it way back when. No waiting. Be sure to replace the handle/sections while or just after filling BEFORE moving the tray - or the water will spill out (don’t ask me how I know this). Very happy with this purchase. The trays are heavy duty, sturdy, and work well.
