This is a great find!!
This can be used for making applesauce or even as a potato ricer. I grew up with one in my family. They were larger back then but this one has all the pieces and all the function. The pestle/mallet is a perfect fit.

The stand is great in theory...
The actual chinoise is great, and the pestle is very nice, but I primarily bought this one because of the stand, which has been a little disappointing so far. I don't have a bowl or a pot that fits this. You need a bowl with either the exact diameter needed, a cambro (in which case you don't need the stand anyways), or a wide, flat bottom bowl so the stand fits. I even bought a new bowl trying to make this work and it did not. I wish the stand was more adaptable. Great in theory.Using this for turmeric juice with a cheesecloth inside. Much easier than the round strainers I'd been using, and did not stain. I'll likely use this again, I just need to fiddle with my set-up

Works great
I had one about 50 years old. I bought this one to replace it. The stand makes such a difference. I put the whole thing in my big heating pot. It juiced the tomatoes just as fast as my crank kind and all I had to do was remove the strainer and heat the juice. No transfers. So glad I bought it.

Just like grandmas
This reminded me of what my grandma used to make applesauce. I bought it for that reason and it works great!
