InstaFire Ember Oven
The Instafire Oven Is exactly what I need for emergency outages. I fear I will use the oven more than I really will want, but I am so happy I have it.

Great item, be patient.
Works as intended. 35 mins to preheat to 350 degrees. I made a boxed cake and put it into a round Insta cake pan and 2 mini loaf pans. Took 35 mins to cook the round cake and 35 mins to cook the loaf cakes (together). I’ll be getting other pans for this (baking box is approximately 11” long x 7.75” deep for those wondering). I do recommend a pair of heat gloves as oven mitts will be clumsy with this. I used a pair I had from my kick ash basket on my mini egg smoker that worked well. Temp held between 280 and 320 for most of the cook duration (but that was likely due to the fuel, as I used some leftover from heat trays I had at a recent party. Went from 350 degrees to 320 degrees after about 15 mins into the first cook, and held there til about 25 mins left in the second, then gradually decreased to 280 when the loaf pans were done. I Will be getting some of the insta fire brand as it shows a higher burn temp as well as a longer burn time). Overall, I do recommend.

Great for camping or power outages
This is a great product, solidly made, and works well. This would be great for camping or if the power goes out. I’ve read it through several test runs and have been pleased.

Good Value
The media could not be loaded. I gave 4 stars due to the fact there are a few design details that are not ideal. The gate which is on top to feed material to burn doesn't latch open securely and basically you have to hold it open the whole time. It's hot while doing that....The wooden handles do not wrap all the way around the metal and if you had to lift it while hot you will feel the warm Metal I did not touch them while at 400F.Overall it is nicely constructed the main oven door closes and is secured by two very nice ball bearings so opening and closing is very nice. I primarily fed it through the sliding metal gate used to control temperature and it worked well.It smokes at first but burns very clean once it gets good embers.Don't go over board and add to much fuel or it may become way to hot.Made my first meal in it today. I look forward future uses. It's very light weight and cooks food pretty fast. It's an experience using this bio mass oven don't expect it to be like your in home gas or Electric range. Just gather sticks in a bucket and have them on hand while you make the fire. Charcoal *may be alot easier. But I wanted to use it with sticks I gathered in the back yard.Overall very satisfied. If you want the ability to cook food when and if the grid goes down and you don't have a lot of money or space this is a good option.Jim From the North East

Works well
It does the job. I take it camping with us. I like it better with stereo fuel but it works just as well with kindling.

Fun and different
It’s a fun small alternative to gas or electricity. I wish you could use the bio-material (wood or charcoal) to also flavor the food like a smoker or charcoal grill. Cooks really well once you learn how to control the temp.

Great Design Poor Build
This is a very good design but there is a material flaw that makes it a useless piece of junk. The first time I fired it up to test it the interior shielding melted and looked like melted tin or aluminum. I totally rebuilt it and made modifications to it. It now is a great tool but it is not worth buying as it came and may be dangerous as it can reach very high temperatures burning wood.
