Replacement drive for YouView DVR
Used to replace 500Gb drive in Humax YouView T2000. Easy to fit. Taller than 500Gb drive, but fits in YouView box. See YouView support for details of maintenance mode to do Factory Reset and delete recordings (it’s a new disk). Works a treat. Arrived well packaged as specified.

Good Hard Drives, Bad Delivery?
Although The Hard Drives in my delivery package turned out to be OK They may have suffered serious internal damage due to being dropped through the letterbox as a drop of 3feet can be very detrimental to a hard drive's life span. So Please Amazon tell your delivery team to be extra careful when delivering hard drives to customers.

Cheap for a reason
Drive failed after 2 days, and would not format, returning SMART error. Returned for a refund.

Sat Boxes Fixed
Purchased 2 of these to repair 2 older-type 'HUMAX - Freeview' Satellite boxes. Both worked OK - only time will tell if they last!

Good value for the capacity.
The disk is working well as storage for big files, while my operating system disk is a smaller SSD.As said in the headline, value per gigabyte is good.It could be better packaged - it was in a skinny bag that could be posted, so dropped about 3 feet from my letter box onto my concrete porch floor! I'd dropped a coat onto the floor, just in case. In hindsight, I'd have put several down! Anyway, the drive survived, and is healthy - I've checked.

Hard disk for a Humax HDR-FOX T2
I purchased a Humax HDR-FOX T2 Freeview recorder with 1TB disk from Amazon mid 2013 and the internal hard disk has recently developed errors (bad sectors). Symptoms were:* failed recordings: recordings not starting at all or not completing or corrupted recordings (blocky, like weak signal)* FFwarding through recordings was like navigating through treacle..slow and unpredictable* audible clicking sounds coming from the disk on occasionSo had no choice but to replace the disk or get a new box. A new disk was the much cheaper (and my preferred) option.I have installed the custom firmware available for free from hummy.tv on my HDR-FOX T2. A very quick and simple process that makes using and managing the T2 a lot better (it has a full web interface as well for managing the T2). But installing the custom firmware also means that you can simply swap the old disk for this new 2TB one, and format it via the HDR-FOX T2 menu using the remote control without having to mess about partitioning it. The whole process is about a 10 to 15 minute job in fact.PLEASE NOTE: YOU SHOULD UPDATE FIRMWARE TO CUSTOM FIRMWARE FREE FROM HUMMY.TV BEFORE ADDING A 2TB HARD DRIVE. If you do not update to custom firmware then you need buy the 1TB version of this disk instead. The process to remove the old disk is very easy indeed.1. Unplug.2. There are only 3 screws keeping the 'lid' on . Remove them3. Inside the PVR there is a plastic disk caddy holding the disk in place. There are four screws, one in each corner. Undo them.4. Unplug the fan header from the motherboard5. Lift the caddy upward and unplug the power and SATA strip (it's in one piece) from the hard disk.6. Unscrew the four compression screws holding the hard disk in the caddy (2 on each side)7. remove old hard diskFitting the new hard disk is the reverse of the above. The old disk is a Seagate Pipeline drive, and this new drive is also a Pipeline disk, just bigger, and designed for PVRs.

Terrible packaging for a fragile component
Have bought one of those a few months ago and as it seems to work fine, bought it again. Both times it came in a very flimsy little padded envelope. Worst packaging apart from no packaging at all, for a delicate and very fragile hard drive. Both were thrown through our letter box and obviously dropped on the floor. Not really the delivery guy's fault as it does not even say "Fragile!" on the envelope. Had to return this second purchase as it would not even power up. No wonder, these things get thrown about both at the warehouse and in the transport to the customer. I am totally in favour of less packaging in general, but for a breakable item like this, it's just ridiculous.
