how to get ink to flow? put in a new fresh cartridge and cannot get it to write

Mine wrote straight from the moment I put ink in the cartridge. Did you flush the pen to clean first? Sometimes that's required to get any tiny bits of debris that may have been missed and have clogged the nib. Also, if you can flush it, you should be able to see how the ink would flow. If still not working, examine the nib for a defect and contact the seller. They've been good and should help!
