Night and Day
The media could not be loaded. As an underwater photographer, the Orcatorch d710V dive light is a natural addition to my camera rig. Out of the box, the dive light comes with a ball mount and two usb-c chargeable batteries with both batteries being able to run 90+ min each at max brightness underwater. The construction of the dive light is solid, with an identical size to the normal d710 and using the same batteries making it an ideal pair. The two can be easily differentiated with the video light having a shallower reflector. The dive light produces a clean white and uniform illumination across a broad area, allowing for both macro shots and wide shots restoring a full spectrum of color to return to the subject. With high dynamic range of colors, the post processing of images becomes trivial allowing me to spend more time showing my pictures off to friends and family who have never seen the underwater world.Commonly diving at walls in SoCal in 60-80 ft, this has also become my preferred dive light and saving my D710 spot dive light for communication and as a backup. Although the light comes with a red and UV light, I haven’t found much of a use for these features. With over 15 dives and counting with this dive light, Im quickly building an abundance of videos to share with my familyPictures: with and without light. No amount of post processing can bring the orange back to the starfish

Incredibly bright and versatile dive video light - sure to be your primary video light
The media could not be loaded. I love this light more than I expected to. I’ll get to that a little later in this review.I’ll start with the easy part - the construction. This is an Orcatorch and is everything I have come to expect from them. It is made from airplane grade aluminum and you can feel the quality, Everything about the light feels like it is made to last. From the switch, which feels solid and has a nice little LED light in the center to let you know charge status, and the way that the light opens for the battery compartment so smoothly - you know this is not a cheap light. It is solid. It comes with two batteries, and I really like that. It is always nice to have an extra battery to change in between dives and not having to worry about charging on a boat or at the beach. These batteries have a USB C port built right in so to charge them you just plug a USB C cable into the battery and plug the other end into a power source. The D710V MK2 also comes with a convenient USB C to A cable but any one should work. The light has a triple O-ring design so as long as you keep them clean and lubricated you should not have a flooding problem. It also comes with an extra set of 3 O-rings so this really is meant to last many years and many dives. Now to the meat and potatoes of this review - how it performs. I’ll start with saying that I already own the D710V MK1 - and that has been my favorite video dive light for a while. And when I saw the specs on the MK2 I was a bit skeptical. On paper it is a bit brighter but it comes at the cost of a little bit of battery life. I thought this was a bad idea. And then I went diving with it. The MK2 is noticeably brighter than the MK1 - much more than I expected. It really is going to make a difference in my underwater photos and videos. It is really nice and has no rough edges around the perimeter of the light - perfect for pictures and videos, I took it on a long dive - 69 minutes and he LED light was still green - so the light should last a long time. Will it last two dives? Probably not, but after a bit of thought I realized the MK1 would not either. So it still has more than enough power for a very long dive and it had that nice added bonus of extra brightness - one that you will really appreciate. On the MK1 I never really used the red or ultra-violet modes, They did not seen strong enough to be very useful, On the MK2 both these modes have a huge boost in power and it is VERY noticeable,Overall, I strongly recommend this light. It is reasonably priced and will make an excellent primary video dive light. Your pictures and videos will thank you.

Great light for underwater photography or as a primary dive light.
The media could not be loaded. The OrcaTorch D710V design and light options is great for photography. I used this light for the first time and was presently surprised with its brightness, even with its compact size.Like the rest of the OrcaTorch designs, it has a one button control options, with the brightest being 2000 Lumens. The other color options are red, and violet/UV light. It comes with two rechargeable batteries, one camera mounting bracket, and a wrist lanyard. The light has a 120 wide beam, plenty bright enough for any dive, day or night. I epically liked the UV light feature. It gave my pictures an affect that I was not expecting, making it perfect for night dives. Can’t wait to dive again with this light and take awesome night pictures! Before I started using the D170V, I’ve used a much more expensive light that does not have half the features as the D710V. I will be selling or storing my other camera lights and only be using the OrcaTorch DC701V

Reliable and price is right
Used this for a snorkeling fill light to record videos in an amazinf underwater phone housing (divevolk). The light was plenty powerful to evenly fill the wide angle lens with no dark edges. The light fills the frame with no hotshots at all. It's very impressive. The color rendering is natural and has a high and low light setting. For added bonus, there's a red light and a uv light. The uv light isn't "bright" but it packs enough to see things that are close. Certain types of coral glow. Kinda cool. The batteries last a long time. The usb c port on the batteries plug right into the cable usbc cable. There are 3 separate o ring seals that seal up the battery so no water comes in. Also comes with extra o rings, charging cable, and a ball mount. I was skeptical about purchasing an off brand but this octatorch performed very well.
