Seems accurate, every skin temp. I held onto the thermocoupler and it got to around 97F. I got my foundry up to 2050F but then the ceramic thermocoupler started to fail and it stopped reading the correct temp. I can’t fault this tool because, really, I am new to this. Lol. So far so good and if I have any issue I will edit this review. Oh! PS I think they updated the instructions. They seem ok.

It is reasonably easy to use, but reading the instructions carefully is important. The unit can display values in degrees C or F. However, if you capture data in the device memory and then download it to a computer, the app will only display the values in degrees C. And, if you then export the values to a file they will also be in degrees C. You can use Excel to convert the values, but you have to first separate the numeric values from alphabet characters that immediately follow.

My son (7th Grade) used this for his science project this year. He was measuring the effectiveness of various types of insulating materials exposed to a propane torch. It worked great: consistent results, easy to read display.

Has good repeatibility which is what I need for my application. Measures to nearest 0.2 F or 0.1C and I can remove thermocouple from a water bath and reinstall it and get same result. Easy to use and plenty durable for my application.

The thermometer does not keep the set high temp alarm threshold as it says it does. The alarm is a flashing red screen, no audible. The manual is basic, does not explain that you have to adjust the alarm threshold for each separately. You have to guess at a lot of things.

Nice inexpensive pyrometer - So far so good!!! I’ve used it for three kiln firings up to 2211 degrees without any issues.
