Will these clip over a 1" rod?

Probably not. 1" is about the size of rod that I bought these hooks for. Thought they would be perfect. a waste of money!

Will these fit a 1-1/4" rod?

They did not fit well, they will clip on but will not latch. You need a smaller rod. I wanted mine for towels in my bathroom hanging from my shower rod.

What is the largest diameter rod these will work on (the clip end)?

I use mine clips in the laundry room to hold brooms and mops. Not understanding the exact question when you say diameter. You can see how big the clips are
