Peckish 60051228 Secret Garden Dining Station for Wild Bird, 6 x 20 x 80 cm

We bought this item as an addition to one purchased earlier from another supplier. This be was purchased at a much better price than Garden Centres who were charging almost double. We were so pleased with the delivery, it arrived on time and was easily erected in the garden and looks superb. The birds love both feeding stations which hosts plenty of various food. It is sturdy and holds quite a number of feeders

The feeding station is very easy to assemble and seems sturdy enough. Had to wait until the ground was soft enough before pushing the prongs on the bottom of the pole into the soil (don't try and do this when the soil is hard as I think the prongs would bend or break). Once erected and placed in the garden it seems fairly stable. I can't comment on how rust resistant it is, or how well it will remain standing in a gale at this stage. The ornate top with the metal leaf effect is quite attractive. It took the birds a day or two to realise they now have a nice feeding area, and they couldn't leave it alone. The magpies seem to like it too! Our resident squirrel hasn't attempted a raid on it yet, but it has eyed it up once or twice. It will be interesting to see if it decides to try and shin up the pole to the food. Only had this item a few days but would recommend it as so far, it is doing what it is designed to do and it looks nice. Update: The squirrel did manage to get to the bird food LOL! update September 2021: Have since purchased squirrel baffle which totally defeated the squirrels on their first encounter with it. Haven't seen them try and bypass it since.

I love that once in the ground it's nice & sturdy with a central spike & 4 prongs to secure. Plenty of hanging branches for a variety of food vessels. The screw method to secure metal branches is brilliant making it more versitile . My only disappointment is I'd have liked it to be taller. Once securely in the ground it stands 5'2" from ground to tip but the lowest dish because of necessary spacing, sits only 3' off the ground making it accessible to preditors like the neighbours cat. It could do with an 3rd additional screw in pole which would raise it another foot & half. Very well built. Positively recommend.

Easy to put together. Seems to be well made and robust. I chose the design to add solar lights and other feeders, so this suited me.Make sure you choose a wet day with soft ground to push in the ground prongs. You will damage it trying to hammer it in, just use your feet.

Amazing product! Easy to assemble and despite not being the cheapest is excellent value for money. To start with I was going to buy a cheaper one but not am I glad I spent the extra on this one! My favourite part is the leaf design at the top, this helps protect baby blue tits and baby great tits from the evil magpies! They pick their seed and then sit up on the top in between the leaves to eat it. I have a range of feeders hanging on it which is very well attended by many blue tits, great tits, goldfinches and greenfinches. Before my feeders were hanging on a bird table but the squirrels kept stealing the seed so I bought this with a squirrel baffle now the baby birds get all the seed and not the squirrels! I really am extremely pleased with it and would highly recommend! The small birds say thank you Peckish do such a well thought out design!

Bird feeding station looks nice when made up, easy to fit into the ground with the 4 spikes, my only criticism is it’s a bit flimsy, when trying to tighten the wing nuts to place the top on, they broke and I was only finger tightening them, two wing nuts broke so had to find replacements, the mesh seed tray was also torn, this was down to the way it was packaged. I was surprised as this is a well known brand.

Very ornate and pretty.It seems sturdy and the design is lovely.The issues I have is how it was boxed up the shape leaves at the top were packaged against the mesh which has caused damage to the mesh seed tray.Simple to construct once I had realised that the solid foam comes off the end of the poles to reveal the screw grooves.Would recommend, however I do think it could be packaged differently to avoid damage to the mesh seed tray
