I got my Xtreme 2 almost 5 years ago. Finally it got to a point where only the red light would flash and I would turn on for about 2 seconds and then turn off with the charger plugged in. I though it may be the charger so I got a replacement with the same issues. I was sure at this point the battery was dead.I ended up buying this battery because the other few had quite a few bad reviews stating they only lasted a month or stopped charging after a few charging cycles. So far this battery has my Xtreme 2 working like it was new. I can't speak for longevity yet but I will update my review if and when the battery takes a crap. Installation was pretty straight forward and you can find you tube videos on how to do it. Just be careful when prying and removing the outer cover so you don't break the plastic screw hole tabs or the clips. Take your time. After that the battery just plugs in and you do the reverse steps to get the cover back on.After I installed the battery I let it fully charge and did a hard reset on the Xtreme 2 by holding the volume up and play button at the same time for 5 seconds while the unit was on. It will turn off and then you will have to re-pair the blue tooth. After that update the Xtreme 2 firmware using the JBL app.

Can’t speak to longevity, but so far I’m impressed. Battery comes well packaged and includes a nice little screwdriver. Works with the Extreme 2. Fired right up.Update 8/4…Battery dead and wont take charge. Missed return window by a few days and seller does not take returns (Chinese Co.). Would now give item 0 stars.

The battery has stellar performance, lasts 12 hours like the original , great value for the money, functions perfectly, and the installation is chefs kiss with screw driver they give you. With that being said all aftermarket Chinese batteries only last a year and they go out quicker when you let them sit. It’s like a car battery, you let it sit for too long without turning it on and the battery goes bad. So turn it on about biweekly at least. I should’ve bought a protection plan lol.

Seems to be holding up well after 3 months. I don’t usually run my Xtreme 2 until it runs out of power. In the last three months since installing the new battery, I've had the Xtreme 2 running at @ 75% volume for at least 7 hours on multiple occasions. Seems to be a good replacement battery.

Save your self $200! If your speaker turns off after initially turning on and making a sound, then it's the battery. Batteries go bad every 3-4 years.
