Less of a review and more of a cautionary tail…Received my “Dominator DDR5” in a somewhat battered box with an odd label on the back of the packing so was a little cautious from the get go. On opening the outer packaging the inner plastic clamshell packing had a number of cracks and splits on it but the RAM itself looked fine.And as best as I can tell it was a perfectly good set of Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 chips… Packed inside a DDR5 package and sold as DDR5…Didn’t realise this at first and after a few minuets trying to get the new RAM to fit I pulled my old RAM out to compare them and that was when I noticed the issue (The key slot doesn’t match up between the 2 types of PCBs)Spoke to Amazon and they were very helpful with the return process and hopefully they wont just restock these chips again (It looked like they had already been restocked once, probably a sneaky swap and return job)So not really Amazons fault, although a better returns procedure could have prevented this, but their response to the issue was excellent as always.Bottom line: If something looks used/battered take pictures before and as you open it and double check everything.All that said, my original sticks of this RAM have been great aside from some PITA issues with the Corsair RGB software which has a habit of needing restarting when the PC boots.

Corsair does it again, these new memory modules as with the many memory modules I've proudly used in previous builds for more than 20 years are as with all the others rock solid stable out of the box. Paired with Asus ROG STRIX z790 A and Intel i5 13600k CPU just changed the BIOS setting to enable XMP and voila all detected in BIOS and windows correctly with no BSODs etc since build / install10/10 great product from the CORSAIR the leaders in memory modules and PSU's IME10/10 Amazon fast hassle free service from order to delivery

RAM is expensive at the time I bought this kit (£404), which is a joke for RAM! Regarding the speed of the RAM, I did not really notice any tangible difference when compared to my old DDR4 3600 RAM kit, this may be due to the higher latency.The RAM has been very stable and XMP on my MOBO (Aorus Z690 Master) gave me a chip manufacturer specific profile (Samsung 5600) to use, which worked flawlessly.I bought this kit as I had no choice, not realising that my board only supported DDR5 (I thought it was backward compatible stupidly), it was the first kit to come into stock, I am pleased to be future proofed (hopefully) but if budget was an issue, getting a DDR4 compatible board would be a much better way to go as these DDR5 sticks did not offer me much if anything by way of performance increase over my old DDR4 and cost nearly twice as much.

great piece of tech and is super fast. i got 32gb of this ram and it’s stunning with the rgb so might have to upgrade to get all 4 of my slots done. defo would recommend and the picture doesn’t do it justice.

A warnings about Intel DDR% memory. There is a reason Corsair dont sell this RAM current in quad packs at 5600. All current intel based Mobos are not able to consume reliably 4 DIMMS above 4000. You can purchase 4x16 from Corsair (for example) but you will notice the speed is limited to less than 4000. Typically 3600. The issue is with ALL Intel based Mobos today (2022).So buyer beware. Use ONLY two DIMM if you want to achieve speeds above 4000.

Added this to a new build and had no issues what so ever. If i had any critiscicm it would be that the Ram is rather tall and may interfere with wome cpu heat sinks.
