The Best Pet Fountain
I've owned 10-15 pet fountains over the last just as many years. I have multiple in my house. I have been through and through most of the mainstream and well reviewed brands, CatIt, Drinkwell, Pioneer. While those are all fine and varying in price. I would still recommend this one due to it's ease of cleaning and the wireless power dock.My #1 concern is motor shorting out. I'm good about refilling in a timely manner, so burn out due to water level has never been problem. I have lost and replaced too many fountain motors to count, each fountain I've ever owned has gone through at least 1 or 2 extra just by unplugging and plugging back in - you can hear an electrical failure, then the motor will no longer turn back on. It all feels junky and sad to me that a product can be designed and the manufacturers of generic motors being OK with that type of flaw. This fountain remedies the motor/power issue with its wireless power system. I didn't actually know this was a feature when purchasing this, but it's been the best part about it.It's the most convenient way to power something that needs to be cleaned more often than most people do. Not having a power cable to deal with makes cleaning not such an ordeal with how I like to hide my cables away etc.Besides that, the cable not physically running through the unit simplifies the process.I wanted something made of plastic due to the hard water where I live. I'd prefer stainless fountains but the water is just too hard and makes cleaning stainless much too hard, including cat hair getting caked inside of the mineral deposits on the bowl line with no easy way to get them out.I'm hoping the metal plate will have a replacement part if I ever need to.The App/Smart features: If you have cats with health issues would be the main reason to buy this version of the fountain. The other reminders are nice but nothing you couldn't just set on your phone yourself.

Best cat water fountain
Whatever team that designed this should get an award. This is magical.I have two cats who share this fountain. One likes water, the other does not. This fountain measures how much the cats drink, and while I don’t know how much each cat drinks, I can keep an eye out for the total amount they had each day and take a closer look if the amount fluctuates by a lot. Since what I am paying attention to is the trend, I don’t care about the amount of water evaporating, which should be constant. The true genius of this fountain is, as others have mentioned, that the motor charges wirelessly. This is the second fountain I had to buy due to the motor dying out, and I am sure it will be the last. For some reason, I have confidence that the wireless charging gives it a longer motor life.Speaking of motors, this thing is silent. I was honestly hoping to get some running water background sound out of it, but I don’t hear it at all. Maybe if I’m in the same room and listening for it.I also love that the top of the fountain is stainless steel, making it much easier to clean. That said, you have to open every part and wash every crevice each time you clean it. The biofilm does build up in just a few days. The company recommends that you clean it weekly, but I clean it twice a week. Maybe you can get by with weekly cleans if you have just one cat, but with two cats, that gets gross.I also think that the cats drink more with the water constantly running. I still keep a bowl upstairs, but they have been drinking out of it less compared to the time prior to the purchase, when there was a bowl on each floor.Suffice to say that I am very happy with this purchase and product. I would love it even more if they could track water consumption by cat using microchips or face recognition, but that’s a future feature to consider.

Gets the job done! Needs onboarding
I didn't trust this being able to detect the small amounts of water that my cat normally drinks, so I set up a camera permanently recording and compare that with vacations from the app. It actually does work really well. I didn't confirm the amount of water reported is correct but I did confirm that each notification corresponds to the cat visiting the water fountain. It took quite a bit for my cat to get used to it, he was fairly afraid of it. Would have been convenient if this would have included a startup guide.I set it up with an intermittent schedule of running for just one minute and then waiting 30 minutes without running, that minimize the noise as it makes and in that mode I got my cat used to it.There's no way I'm going to be buying you filters every 2 weeks, but at least this has running water which is better than my previous solution which had just water and in a bowlUpdate: Down to 1 start because I can't go lower.I use this in "alternate" mode to avoid noise. I just want water to circulate every now and then to clear out any debris and keep junk from growing, but I don't want the annoying sound permanently nor to stress the motor all the time. After a few weeks it stopped working. It started reporting "low water". Customer support said it was a firmware problem and eventually sent an update. That didn't help. The tray will leak water into the plastic container, leaving nothing available for the cat. The only way to get this to work is to have it running continuously.Looks like something broke and the top plate can't hold water anymore.I called customer support 10 times, I've been emailing back and forth for 2-3 weeks. Customer support promised a replacement metal place, or something, and then stopped responding to me completely.Extremely dissapointed. I have their space feeder and it works great and has so for a couple of years, I'm very dissappointed that this new product failed so poorly. Was about to become a brand advocate. Nope.
