Great Guitar for the price
This is a very good guitar for the price, is it perfect? No! There was a lot of work to do before it was right. Could you play it out of the box, Yes! Just tune it up and let the strings settle in and you could play it. Now first the height of the strings were way too high, and the saddle wasn’t set properly. The neck had way too much relief or back bow so the truss rod had to be adjusted also the nut wasn’t cut deep enough on several strings. Put locking turners on with new pure nickel strings, the old ones were stuck in the tailpiece hard to remove. The body has several flaws in it, however I don’t care bout that. The neck is straight with very little fret sprouts. Here Is the size of the guitar, overall length is 37an1/2” Body width 13an3/4” Horn to Horn is 11” the Waist is 9” the Body is 2” thick Now with this info it’s hard to find a perfect case to put it in, however some gig bags will work, and I did find that ChromaCast has a case that works but it is very snug and I mean VERY SNUG. On the setup, had to remove the bridge completely and counter sink the holes for the flat piece of metal to sit right on the guitar, it does have a ground wire to it. Had to adjust each saddle for proper intonation, cut the nut put new strings adjust truss rod tighten all the screws. The fretboard is dry so you will have to fix that too. Now remember this is Not a 2 Thousand Dollar guitar so if you want a Cool looking Rick copy that comes close with out breaking the bank, this is IT. Do the work and have fun. This thing plays fantastic and I use a pedal so I can get what ever sound I want. No hum at all in the pickups.

Wow, incredible for less than $170 (I got the one pictured)
Review of IYV 6 String IYV-IRK-300 Semi Hollow Electric Guitar 3T Sunburst, Right, (IRK-300)I received the one pictured (the fireglo sunburst type model) and I am very pleased at that. It is a beautiful guitar. There are a couple of minor finishing QC type issues. There is a little residual polishing dust near the neck pickup around one of the screws and along the edge of the pickup near the neck. No big deal. Mine is intonated very well, action is low, and the neck relief is spot on with no buzzing. There are no sharp fret ends. The frets are not polished as well as they could be, when you do a bend you can feel some roughness as the string moves (I’ll fix it when I change the strings). Tuners are basic sealed economy type tuners, but mine holds tune pretty well, new strings and some graphite in the nut slots will improve that I think. The fretboard is Jatoba, a wood I was not familiar with, but from what I’ve since read it is an inexpensive, but very acceptable perhaps more sustainable alternative to some of the common boards, such as rosewood, ebony or maple. The bridge and tailpiece both look great and are solidly made and set. The wood used in the top and back is attractive and visible through the finish. They even put clear coat inside the sound hole.Electronics seem to work fine. The volume and tone knobs both make considerable difference across their ranges. The pickups sound great to me. They are not real powerful, the clean tone is a bit jangly and has a vintage vibe to it, especially at performance volume. Using a little OD distortion the tone is tight and pleasant and sits well in the mix with a bass, flute, drums and keyboard. The band was complimented on the overall sound today.Overall, I like the sound. With the single coil pickups, the pickup design and the hollow space in the body the guitar has an airy resonate tone that actually sounds like it comes from a hollow body guitar (some semihollows just sound like solid guitars, not this one). It reminds me of the airy tone (that I like) of a cheap strat with a canoe cut under the pickups and pickguard, almost a natural reverb tone.Really nice for less than $170 US.

Always wanted a Ricky, this will do!
IYV 6 String IYV-IRK-300 Semi Hollow Electric Guitar 3T SunburstAfter reading many reviews and for this price I pulled the trigger. I have always wanted a Ricky because of John Lennon and John Fogerty. They are so hard to find in stores and on line you usually have to contact the seller to even know the price. Many years ago I played a 325? like Lennon's and didn't want to put it down. The fireglow finish on this is absolutely beautiful, as is the fit. Feels good in my hands, easy to chord and fly all over the neck. Set up out of the box is impressive. Low action and intonation is spot on. The one I received is the one shown online. I've bought new guitars that cost 10 to 15 times more that needed more adjusting, setting up and tightening than this IYV. That is to be expected with almost any guitar, no matter the quality. The screws on the tailpiece and jack plate are taper head and stick out a little but they are tight. Not a big deal but they might want to use different screws. Other than that when I change strings I'll polish the frets and fingerboard and see how it stays in tune with good strings. The pickups sound good enough but it will benefit from adding a 22uf capacitor and cure treble bleed that I'll get around to soon. Even if you pay a guitar tech to make some minor upgrades it's almost a Rick at a fraction of the cost. I'm glad I found this little jewel. I guess I was kind of a guitar snob for a long time. I wouldn't consider the lower end ones probably because I remember some of the crappy Squiers and Epis back in the 90s but today those and the guitars coming out of Asia today are on par with the big names as far as build and playibility.
