I use my portable solar panel to charge a power bank. The bank has a display that says how much power the panel is generating and can be used to maximize power, but the display can be hard to read in bright sunlight and adjusting the stand angle and direction of the fold out panels is not so precise. This makes it easy to position just by looking at the shadow of the dot on the circle and get max power without the back and forth between the power bank and the panel.Not sure how well the plastic clip will hold up over time, but the time savings in the setup is worth the price for this device.

I like these. They help me check the alignment of my solar arrays. Small, economical and effective.

The design is pretty simple and gives you a quick check of panel declination/right ascension to the Sun. The problem is, the back of the guide enclosure has a clip that prevents it from sitting true parallel on the solar panel surface. The workaround would be to fasten a piece of "L" material onto the panel for the angle guide to clip to or break the clip off and sandpaper the back of the guide enclosure flat.
