This filter is a good choice if you're looking for an affordable option for taking occasional photos. It works well with lenses that have a focal length of 18mm or more, and it's made of sturdy metal and glass. The filter screws onto the lens easily, and the adjustment ring is smooth to use. The polarizing effect doesn't make the image blurry or unclear. The filter comes with a plastic case that seems to be reliable protection.However, if you're planning to use it with a wide lens (16mm or less), you might experience some issues with the image quality. There is a weird bokeh on the corners, which can't be easily fixed without cropping the image. But if you don't need a wide angle, this filter is a great option.If you're a professional photographer, you might want to consider more expensive options like Hoya, Marumi, or Kenko.

I also owned a YI 4K action camera that I barely used. In addition to the device, I purchased over 20 accessories to review on Amazon UK in order to help you decide if they are worth buying for your own needs.Here, I am aiming to confirm if this CPL filter is a good option to improve your photos and video footage.CONTEXT 💰I bought this filter in July 2018. This item had about 250 customer reviews and an aggregated star-ratings of 4.2. There is nothing but the lens, so no instructions and no travel pouch.DESIGN ⌚The round shape filter is super light and feels like it is constructed well. It looks sleek, but I am not sure how durable the filter will proved to be on the road though. For the price it is totally satisfactory.FEATURES ✅The sole purpose of this filter is to help you “eliminates harmful reflections / glare, improves clarity and expressiveness”. To accomplish that feat, you have to operate the circular dial to minimise or heightened the amount of reflection or contrast of your images or video footage. I am delighted to report that the dial is a pleasure to use with the right level of resistance and smoothness.CONCLUSION ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Based on my brief testing, I can highly recommend this inexpensive CPL filter. Bought this so I didn't have to keep swapping my K&F filter between lenses and honestly I can't tell the difference between them. I'd buy this one again without thinking if I need another one in the future.

Provides basic lens protection

As an Amazon basic you may only expect medium quality, I bought this to replace my Hoya pro PL filter that had got scratched, this is nearly as good but at a 1/4 of the price. Although slightly thicker casing and less dense glass (probably less coatings) the polarisation works very well.

This is a nicely presented filter that comes in a small plastic case. Like any circular polarizer with such a slim profile it is a bit tricky to tighten up firmly because there's almost nothing to get hold of. The bit that doesn't spin is knurled though so you can sort of get your fingernails into it for a bit of extra grip.The part that spins around isn't especially smooth but it's okay. I've been using it on an Olympus pro lens and it doesn't obstruct use of the lens cap or the lens hood, though it's fiddly to adjust when the lens hood's on, not surprisingly.Once you've figured out that a polarizer filter only works for giving you bluer skies and deeper colours when you're pointing the camera at right angles to the sun (a crucial thing to know), you can have a play around. The effect is quite strong at its maximum. You'll probably need to experiment to get the best out of it, and you need to remember that it reduces the amount of light entering the lens by up to two stops, so it's not a filter to leave on permanently or use in low light.Used at the wide end of a 24–80 equivalent zoom, there's very noticable drop-off in the effect from one side of the frame to the other. This is quite a big drawback to this kind of filter, and since you have to have the sun to the side, almost unavoidable, though if you're using it to kill reflections and highlights it may not be a problem. It seems to work better with a longer focal length. It does mean you can't really use this filter for panoramas because the effect changes as you move the camera in an arc and looks really obvious when you stitch the photos together.I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of this then. But it's still worth a try because it has a low price, and is a nicely made filter that seems to work well in the right situation.
