Mind blowing
Fantastic sounding mic at this price point. I'm not easily impressed. I bought this as a backup mic. In someways it sounds better than my primary mic.

Unbelievable for the money
I tested this against my Oktava MK319 and my Rode NT1 using the same channel on my board, flat EQ, same cable and same distance from my acoustic guitar pointed at the sound hole.Very close to the MK319. It was bright but not thin. The NT1 was a much richer sound in comparison. For the money, the Heimu is a no brainer.Great sound at a price point that’s unheard of.I’m only giving it 3 stars for versatility because I haven’t tested it on anything other then acoustic guitar.

A great small diaphragm condenser for the correct use...
I am making this review to help others out there that are looking at this small diaphragm condenser microphone. I'm a songwriter/composer under BMI, Inc, I've been writing and recording music since 1984.One thing to know, this is not a dynamic microphone like a Shure SM58 or SM57, those microphones are used more for vocals and for over the air recording of loud live drums and guitar amplifiers. This is a small diaphragm condenser microphone. Condenser microphones come in two sizes large and small. The large are more for recording vocals in a studio and also acoustic instruments. The smaller type like this is more towards recording acoustic instruments, and the small diaphragm picks up less side address or noise for the sides of the microphone. Either size of condenser microphones are sensitive, so again for picking up sounds that are quiet for example acoustic guitar and even more nylon string guitars and also ukuleles and less louder acoustic non amplified instruments... this is awesome. Again, not loud drums or guitar cabs. The last thing to add, is this does come with a clip, and yes you do need phantom power and a XLR cable (it does not come with any cables. From my impressions from the recordings I have tested this out with, this microphone rivals others in the $150.00 USD and higher ranges for the same type. Really, the one that I got here in front of me.. Its that good as long as you know the correct use / application for this type of microphone.Thank You for reading my review. - MrTom

Yikes
This mic is under $30 because it is…completely unusable. If other people are getting good use out of it then mine must just be defective because the signal is all over the place. It randomly goes from absurdly hot to nearly silent. Considering the price point…it’s definitely too good to be true. Take that $25~$30 and save up for something better…this ain’t it.
