Can’t get airpods connected on switch? i purchased three as gifts and none of them will connect to the airpods. disappointing for the kiddos.

this adapter can work with airpods. you cant make it, i know the reason.
Below is my advice for your situation:
Theres a pairing button on your Airpods case. And if my adapter keeps flashing, which means, this adapter is not a faulty one.  so below instruction is my new advice:
most impostant step is the third tips, the note part
(1)Plug our adapter to your any device, which has type-c or usb a port, also this port must support audio output function. (Just like your Switch, Switch lite, Switch Host, Phone, Notebook)
(2)Press the red key of the adapter for almost 1 second into pairing mode with blinking blue LED 
(3)Set your Airpods to bluetooth pairing status 
Note please: if you wanna connect to your Airpods, remember to open the headphone cover of your Airpods, then long press the pairing button of your Airpods until the pairing is successful, then you can take out your two earpices out of your Airpods case.  (dont take out your earpices before its successful)
(4)Pairing is successful once the Blue Led light is off
Hope you can try again, and check please, if your airpods has connected to your phone or another device, you have connected before.

Can I charge the Switch at the same time as using this adapter?

Sorry, the answer is no, this bluetooth dongle for switch lite cant support this function for now. So you cant charge the switch at the same time as using this adapter.
But dont worry about this, because we are designing the new bluetooth adapter, which can support this function, hope you can follow our shop, we are about to launch our new bluetooth audio adapter.

Can this work with wireless controllers?

I am a little confused about this question, but my answer to your question is: if your wireless controller has a USB C or USB A interface , which can also support audio output, then this bluetooth audio transmitter switch can work with your this kind of wireless controllers. But if not, then the answer is no, like PS4 wireless controller, this adapter (bluetooth audio transmitter nintendo switch）cant work with ps4 wireless controller, only can work with PS4 host.
