Sonic X Japanese Language SDBD [Blu-ray]

Absolutely love it!

Sonic X is FINALLY available to own in its original Japanese format, Uncensored and unedited! It’s a TWO disc set that includes ALL 78 episodes of the series. It does not include the English dub, ONLY the Japanese version. The menu allows you to watch the episodes by the “Sagas” or you can simply watch all episodes in order. The picture looks spectacular on screen in Blu-Ray!!! You would think by watching it, it was always meant to be in this format. The picture is so clear and not fuzzy at all and nothing is removed! Not the music/sound, alcohol consumption, suggestive themes, violence or language!!! Discotek is amazing for releasing this! It’s also better to have on Blu-Ray disc rather than DVD since they were able to squeeze all episodes on two discs instead of maybe 12 DVD discs. I may also add that if you compare the English dub and Japanese release… there is roughly about a 300 minute run time difference between the releases!! That’s major that so much was cut from the dub! I highly advise this item of you want to watch Sonic X the original way it was meant to be shown.

All 78 episodes in the original format as it should.Okay maybe one or two accidental 4Kids edit slipped there but it's harmless. As i looked deep into the source for answer, i found it. TMS somehow didn't preserve the masters they gave to Discotek and they had to use other masters for certain parts that looked worse. I own all 13 japanese DVD's so i know they are a bit cropped compared to this release.But lets see the big positive side of this release! T.O.P(END 3) finally in textless form for the first time and the special ending of episode 39 is also there!(Wasn't included in the JP DVD's)My only complain is that they didn't include the textless credits version of episode 26 and the quality in some short scenes drops a bit(little pixelated) but its not a big deal really.Discotek did the best they could to make this release worthy and I see the hard work in this!Recommend it for all Sonic or Sonic X fan!

As many of you might know, the English dubbed version of Sonic X is notorious for its heavy-handed censorship. Among other things, they changed realistic gunshot sound effects to laser noises, toned down a lot of the dialogue and completely cut out, retconned or recontextualized many scenes to be more kid-friendly. That is why this release of the original uncensored Japanese version of Sonic X is a huge treat to the fans who don't want to be treated like fragile children.Besides just not being censored, the Japanese version is superior in every way. The opening song is a million times better as are the endings. The voice acting and background music are much more dramatic and intense. The jokes are funnier. Sonic even says the s-word in the second episode, which is hilarious. If you're a Sonic fan, you need to get this release. It's got all the episodes on just two discs. The only downside is that it's in standard definition.

Currently on episode 4 and I can say as an adult that wanted to rewatch this show but in the original language it was released in, I can honestly say I love the Japanese version a bit more than the English version which is what I grew up on

Back in 2003, Sonic the Hedgehog got a full fledged anime series known as "Sonic X." I originally watched the Japanese version before 4Kids picked it up. The English version just didn't compare and too much was changed and dumbed down from the Japanese version. (Including a lot of really dumb edits and excluding the awesome Japanese music score.) Now thanks to Discotek we can FINALLY watch Sonic X uncut as it was meant to be seen and appreciate it for the great anime it truly is. If you have nostalgia for Sonic X or just love the Sonic franchise in general, this is a MUST buy. It even includes all the original production pilots from when the show was still in production.

I've loved this anime since I was a kid and I'm so happy to finally be able to see it the way it was meant to be seen with the original dialogue!!! So many great character moments, beautiful pacing, and really well done emotional arcs!!! The picture quality is amazing and the subtitles are on by default which is so nice! Absolutely highly recommend this whether you've seen the subs before or not, the DVD quality is fabulous and the anime itself is of course incredible!!! :)
