Adorable!!!!!!!
This item takes some work to put together. If you're familiar with these kinds of DIY sets, you make everything with the included items. You will need glue though so pick your favourite kind. Maybe a pair of tweezers too.Sit down, put on a movie or music and chill out while you get crafting. The end result is worth it. This isn't as difficult a set as some others out there.

Low quality, missing pieces
I’ve done quite a few book nooks now and this one was by far the worst. Low quality and hard to understand instructions. Do not recommend.

It is fun, but time consuming to put together
I have spent quite some time putting this together. My husband chose it as my Christmas gift from him. I enjoy putting dioramas together. I have received a few by this point and enjoy putting them together.I used my own glue. I have several different types of glue in applicator bottles with very fine tips. This allows me to be very precise is gluing things. Most needed just a small drop of glue. I also used some super glue for some things that needed to set faster, just about anything that was hanging.I did not realize that it didn't come with batteries. I had to order them since it was an odd size, LR1130/AG10. It needs 3. I had other batteries (SR44W, used 2) that fit in the battery box and were enough to test that the lights worked, so I didn't have to wait for the batteries before starting assembly. The instructions are okay. They seem like they were machine translated. I have assembled things using Google translate. It isn't great, but none of the instructions were detailed enough for it to really matter. There was 1 step where it was missing instructions so I missed adding something and couldn't fix it because it was already glued in place. The wiring was super simple. No soldering needed. It was basically twist the wires together and use tape. I kind of wish it did have some heat shrink tubing instead. I even had heat shrink in white that was probably the right size, but used the included tape.In general, it was fun. It has been a week since I started and it just needs the final details. I was putting off the end because I needed to find my larger cutting mat to cut the piece for the cover. I didn't need to, but rather than using scissors, I used the mat and a rotary cutter. I think it ended up more square. In general it was at least 2 days of work. And pretty long days. Maybe I am just slow, but sometimes you have to glue stuff and then wait for it to dry enough to adhere before going on to the next step. Otherwise, it is just frustrating.

Just awful
This looked so pretty when I ordered it and, on the box, once it arrived. I found out very quickly that it was not as fun as I hoped for. The description was inadequate and the pictures in the booklet were hard to decipher. I am not one to give up quickly, but this build sure tested my patience. Which was running out fast. There were parts missing and I was not able to get the lights to work, no matter what I tried. The "wood" was warping once you added glue to it, and at the end I had to turn into a seamstress. I did not expect that at all. The amount of glue needed for this build was enormous!!! If you want to entertain your 14-year-old (or older) with this build, watch out, it might just end up against the wall. Can not recommend at all. I wanted to give it zero stars, but then I couldn't submit my review.

Very Detailed Book Nook
This was a gift for young teenager but needed adult supervision. No batteries were included and the instructions were vague. Very tiny detailed pieces. Took much longer than anticipated, but nice in the end.

Awesome project, know what you’re getting into
I got the Japanese alleyway. This project took me 2 months to finally get around to because I was busy with finals. I procrastinated starting it because I opened the box and was overwhelmed with the complexity! I finally started it this summer and finished it within a week. Once I got started it was easy to get into the groove of it. Be prepared, it is going to take you quite a while! First thing I’ll say is you need to buy your own glue, the kit doesn’t come with any. I got a cheap wood glue and it worked fine. I also used hot glue and tape for the wiring. Also, for the kit I got, the intrusions suck, but luckily there was an awesome YouTube tutorial that helped a lot with wiring it. I’m going to buy another kit from this brand because I loved it so much! The photos don’t show what it will look like from the front once it’s finished very well, but imo it doesn’t look as good as when it’s opened up, because you can’t see any of the little details you worked so hard on! I liked it just to have something cool to work on as a summer project. Get it if you like detaily tedious projects and have a lot of time on your hands!

Amazing Experience
Loved working on this. It was a ton of work but with a bit of effort and lots of glue it turned out amazing.Just watch and mark your wires (I used a sharpie) so you don't accidentally match a grey wire with a white wire.
