It states that the brand name is best biltong, but the combo is distributed by yum biltong. how is this possible?

Andrew, I had the same problem. Originally this page was dedicated to the South African Shop. I bought the combo from them for ages--and it is the best combo ever--then suddenly the brand name changed to Yum Biltong, which is another company entirely. Best Biltong seems to be yet another confusion added to this page. Do yourself a favor and go to the alternative choices under '2 new' on this page and you will see The South African Shop listed there. Buy the combo from them. It is delicious and great value.

How long is the pack good for before opening please?

I am sorry I wouldn't be able to answer that as the pack never lasts that long the minute it arrives is the minute it gets openedThough I would say I would never put it in the fridge as this keeps it moist and biltong should be able to dry out the best thing would be to open it remove it from its bag so that no moisture get into it and let it air dry spread out on a plate in a dry cupboard, but not in a damp moist place
