Q: How does it differ from the manual nutmeg mills?

This mill gives a nice fine grind of nutmeg. Easy to use, handle folds for easy storage, stores spare nutmegs and looks good. Very pleased and would certainly buy again.P.S. Friends who have seen and experimented with it have also liked and gone on to buy.

Q: Do you need a lot of strength to grind the nutmeg? I don't have much strength in hand and fingers.

No, it turns without a lot of pressure. I have arthritis in my fingers and manged well though it took time to grind a lot. i grind half a pound of nutmeg every Christmas and I eventually bought a Krups coffee mill which grinds a lot faster though I have sift it to use in cakes. For small amounts this would be fine.

Q: Does this grind every last bit of a nutmeg?

No, it leaves a tiny bit, the top of the nut, just like a slice really. I keep them and grind them in a spice grinder later.

I can't remember how much I paid but I would be surprised if I paid £31.95 & certainly not over 3 thousand pounds
