Is it. Worth upgrading 2021, version?

It depends on what's important to you. In comparing the Moto G Play 2021 to the Moto G Play 2023 here's the major differences. The latest version has a higher refresh rate at 90HZ compared to 60 HZ with the 2021 model. That's probably the biggest difference for phone geeks in making the upgrade. Overall bench mark performance is still only mediocre for either device. The camera quality isn't that much better with the newer model and the battery life improvements are minor. The newer model comes with Android 12 and will eventually get a single upgrade only to OS 13. Many will like the fact that the latest model comes with 3 years of Security updates instead of only 2 years offered in the past . Keep in mind the security updates for the 2021 model already expired in Jan 2023.

Is Android 13 now shipping in the G Play 2023? Thought I saw this somewhere.

NO. It can be a little confusing when you can inadvertently click a tab to other phones when currently viewing a certain Amazon ad which is what you probably did. However, It's the comparably priced Moto G Stylus 2023 which I believe is what you saw which is already being shipped with Android 13. Definitely a Moto device also worth considering.

As of today September 30 2023 it's Android 12.
