The high temperature becomes hot, indicating that the PTC inside the transformer has started the temperature protection function. The transformer will not work again until the temperature cools down after the protection function is started Are you overloaded?

sure ,this transformer output is 16-16.5v 40va

I would check with the manufacture minimum voltage requirements. It may work, but with limited results. I would replace with the transformer that was installed with the system.

Hello, The Honeywell 1321 supplies 16.5 VAC (Volts AC) just like this one. The Honeywell transformer can only supply 25 VA (volts times amps) whereas this transformer can supply 40 VA. That means that it has more capacity to spare compared to the Honeywell, so it will power the equipment just fine. Short answer: YES. :)
