This is the perfect replacement part for an older security system. The power supply on my 15 year old security system was intermittently not charging the battery. Installing this power supply was easy. Two wires attach to screws on the power supply. Price is reasonable, give it try if your system is setting low battery code.

Installed this item about a week ago, to power my new Ring doorbell and mechanical doorbell chimes. It worked for about a week - very disappointing. Contacted Amazon Customer Service for a refund. I looked for options, found a comparable Bosch transformer. Unfortunately, it was ALSO made in China.

My original transformer only have like 13.5v-14v. My doorbell is newly purchased eufy2k. Under that voltage, it kind of working at the beginning. However, once doorbell start to trigger alarm and send out video clips, doorbell will immediately lose all power and then starts to boot up again. So, it gives me indication that voltage is too low and current isn't enough to let doorbell work properly. Then, I start to look up transformer to replace the old one. I was looking for something around 18v originally because doorbell is kind of far from the power source and I would like to have buffer to handle voltage drop due to long wire. Since operating range is 16-24v, I think the best voltage is 18v for my use. 16v is kind of on the low side on this voltage thing if device suddenly have a high current draw. So, I think 18.x volt is a perfect voltage for my use case. If you have doorbell which isn't stable on operation, please measure the voltage output on your wire and check on "va" rating. This one is 40va. Eufy only need 30va. Yes, I might be overkill for this tiny device. But, the price difference isn't that big for me to try out lower spec one.For longevity, I will let time to tell. I will definitely update if this adaptor die fast.
