Fairly worthless
When we purchased the original Starscope a bit ago, we were completely underwhelmed with its optical quality. Further, we thought the Starscope came with the camera mount. We were mistaken. So we thought.... that must be the missing component to getting good distant images! We ordered the camera mount. After the mount arrived, we spent the better part of a morning fiddling with it, and the Starscope, trying to get decent distant pictures with our high quality phone cameras. The verdict: save yourself a lot of time, money and hassle and avoid these Starscope products all together. They're cheaply made with a terrible optical quality and the camera mount isn't very good either. You feel as if the scope or your phone is going to fall on the floor at any moment, as you're trying to make adjustments. Pretty much all very worthless. We're very disappointed. Get a decent pair of binoculars and you'll be much happier. Even a cheap pair of binoculars would outshine this stuff.

A piece of junk
This is just not a well made item. And, aligning it with the lens of the iPhone was extremely difficult. Additionally, attaching the device to Monocular was a real challenge. It kept falling off. I am returning it with great disappointment.

Works Ok...Not Great, with phone case.
Would have been nice to know that this works best without a phone case. Image sucks otherwise, and is a little flimsy, not staying close to camera lens.

Not worth the time or money
This is verr hard to adjust due to the weight of the phone when attached to the scope. A must is a good tripod and don't even think you can use this hanbd-held! And the advertized zoom is a bold face lie. Check out your camera zoom ....that's all you get pulse a little maginafaction from the scope (I gusee about 10 power).

Great
My husband loves this for watching the wildlife, now he can easily take photos of what he sees with his monocular. Its been great to show the kids as well.

Good but not perfect for use on a microscope
I have tried several similar device, in a variety of price ranges, to hold a phone camera on an eyepiece of a stereo microscope. While not perfect, this is one of the best I’ve found for the purpose (in its price range, there’s another one for ~$75 that’s better). Its main plus is that it holds the phone far enough away from the eyepiece, since most eyepieces are designed for a large eye distance (for wearers of glasses). Others hold the camera right against the eyepiece glass and that just doesn’t work.. It also easily holds my phone (iPhone 7) and would hold larger ones as well. It’s easy to adjust the phone in the holder. I’ve attached some photos taken with the iPhone using this. There are some negatives too. The main one is that the part that holds onto the eyepiece is just hard plastic, not at all grippy. It easily slips. A soft grippy side, like they use on the phone clamp, would be much better. It also doesn’t hold well on sloping eyepieces like the one shown in one of my photos. It would be better for that if the eyepiece-grip were deeper. A more minor thing is that when I received it, the eyepiece holder wasn’t straight in the device (see photo; it turns out that it was cross-threaded. When I unscrewed it and replaced it, the fit was much better. On balance, this is a good holder for use on a microscope. If you don’t want to spend 3x as much, this is the one to get.

Wasted money
20 bucks down the drain. This product failed to securely hold my star, scope monocular, and it broke while securing it to my monocular.
