L.A. Noire: A vivid, lively colourful recreation of 40s Los Angeles.
This is a general overview of the game L.A. Noire.Released on PS3 and Xbox 360 in May 2011 to plenty of hype and advertisement, it hit the shelves back in the day R* released a game annually (how we long for those days to come back) and mostly met the critics and players expectations. The cutting edge facial tech was a bit awkward but it sort of worked. The open world was a bit sterile bar for the obligatory cake ton of decorative collectibles and 40 street crimes to boot. Many real word brands are in the game, from Lincoln Touring Sedans to the Tucker Torpedo to boxes of Kellogg’s Cornflakes, the devil is in the details when you play through this game - something I believe went overlooked when the game was new.The campaign, with DLC is a meaty length, but was slightly underbaked originally without all the extra content. The game rips majorly from other noires like the Otto Preminger movies, Chinatown and most obviously, LA Confidential, but it’s a video game, so that was forgivable. It is a unique game, as primarily a detective sim of clue finding, suspect interrogating, and the suspect chase sequence. You don’t even have to drive and the bulk of your shooting will come from doing street crimes. People coming from GTA and Red Dead did not expect such a departure but on its own merit, I think it should definitely be considered a 7th gen masterpiece. Worthy of anyone to play, although you may grow bored of the procedural nature of the game as it reaches the end. The final homicide case is a tough puzzle to solve and without an internet guide you’d be hard pushed to solve it yourself.

Great game
I brought this game for my boyfriend as a present, he usually plays cod, battlefront, GTA ect so I thought I would go away from the shoot everyone and destroy everything type of game and go for something more toned down like this. I didn't know what this game was about at all apart from what I got from other reviews which to me said "ok remake of and old game, nothing special at all". After much thinking and seeing poor reviews for the other game i was thinking about getting i brought this and hoped for the best. It has not disappointed at all and he's played it non stop. It's like CSI with driving, you have to put some thought into whats going on but you can still mess around running people over while going to your next location. It has multiple cases you have to solve which involve asking questions, examining body's and searching for clues around crime scenes. The graphics are good, not on a level with some of the games out there but I wouldn't say they are rubbish either and does not affect enjoyment of the game at all. I'm happy I chose this game and he is too, it's also nice that our flat no longer sounds like a war zone most evenings and he doesn't swear or get annoyed while playing this game either which is a plus. Happy customers all round!

The Definitive LA Noire experience
This remaster is great and serves as a perfect reminder of why I used to love this game so much on the PS3. Everything from the original game is lovingly recreated for a new generation of gaming systems and the game still holds up with the graphical powerhouses of the modern industry thanks to this. Team Bondi's pinpoint accurate recreation of 1940's Los Angeles is a wonder to behold and the facial animations in this game remain unrivaled even six and a half years later. This version of the game also includes all of the DLC cases which added an extra 8 or so hours to my overall playtime, so as someone that hadnt played these cases previously, this was a great addition.Sadly, however, the same problem I had with the original version of LA Noire remains. There simply isn't enough to do in the open world between cases. There are still plenty of collectibles such as hidden cars, film reels and even the new addition, novels. But there are no real rewards worth talking about for finding these items and the collectible hunt is a tedious one and I didn't find it fun whatsoever. If you've never played LA Noire before this comes highly highly recommended, I would honestly say that this is the definitive way to play the game. The PS4's controller, for me at least, was a lot more comfortable to play with than that of the PS3 before it, and this complimented the game's driving segments to the point where I actually spent a lot of time voluntarily behind the wheel, a part of the game I used to despise due to my disdain for the PS3's controller back when this game first came out in 2011. You're also very much getting the complete package with this edition, the bonus cases tie into the main story nicely and in my opinion are some of the best that the game has to offer. It's just a shame that there wasnt more to do in the open world.

Great update
I owned this game on the PS3 when the game first came out, but never completed it, as my PS3 would overheat due to the intense graphics for the time. This updated and enhanced version has made the game much more enjoyable and playable on the PS4 Pro. The graphics are a bit dated, but the music and sound and facet expressions and compelling story lines are simply brilliant. Well worth a revisit

One of Rockstar’s best
I loved the original on PS3 so bought the remaster on launch. Visually looks amazing and I love the vibe of 1950s Los Angeles. Really fun game, solving crimes.
