It does what it needed to do
It may not be the best but it worked for what I needed it to. Keep in mind there is a little TRIGGER that when you pull the cable after looping it in causes the retracting spring to pull the cable through. You may have to wind it first but it works just fine. A spring needs tension.

Worked for the kindle cord but eventually the wire snapped
I like the concept but it didn't work. It kept rolling up the cord and I had to keep pulling out more.Eventually the wire inside my kindle cord broke and I had to buy a new cord. So I stopped using thisitem

cord winder stops and starts
The cord winder does wind cords, but it's not very strong. You have to feed the cord in by pushing the cord in. Maybe the cord is too large for the winder.

Cord winder
Great with a skinny cable but could use one to wok with the wider phone cords.

Wind up
Wasn’t exactly what I was expecting but found use for it and will purchase more for other cords. Just need to locate a few for thicker cords.

Couldn't get it to work consistently
I have a feeling there is a trick to it, but I could only get it to work every 5th or 6th try. I purchased it for travel, but knew it would only irritate me when I was quickly trying to pack up and it took too long to get it to wind up. I returned it.

Really junk
The design is just flawed. The release button/lever that is supposed to allow a cord to rewind won’t stay disengaged long enough to retract. I even took the whole thing apart - seemed there was a small internal catch spring missing ( which engages the catch) which I replaced, but it still didn’t work. It neither will engage nor disengage in order to retract properly. It just doesn’t work.

Looks good in theory
It does what it claims. But in practice, it doesn't work as well as I like and it eventually got yanked out. I'll just go with a normal cable.
