It should be all right as it's only outlet valve, you will need to have enough space only in the tank.Thank you

The rim of the button at the top is 48mm so, no, it won't fit a 50mm hole.

Q: Where does the 40mm or 50 mm relate to? I have a unit in place and just need a direct replacement.
