Great for Senior Dogs
This product has been very helpful in keeping my 17 year old Golden Retriever alert and responsive. I read how this product can really help older dogs with senility and I doubted it at first...but the proof is in my 17.6 year old Gold who is as alert as a puppy!

Powder form - if that's what you want
I have been taking an ALCAR supplement off and on for the last few years. I will occasionally encounter a brand I like more than another, but I haven't been able to identify much of a difference between products other than format and price.I have typically been taking it in capsule form. Many of the capsules also include one or more other supplements. This is a powder that is just ALCAR. It's relatively easy to mix but not as convenient as a capsule. The tradeoff is that it is a price competitive product from a reputable company. The container lists "about 83" servings, which makes this about half the price of a daily serving when compared to the last brand I was taking in capsule form.

Good stuff
This appears to be a clean, solid carnitine supplement. Recently went carnivore after learning the benefits of this, and while it is only a derivative of amino acids it is vital for health. I prefer to get my vitamins and minerals and everything else my food, but when I was eating less red meat this made a noticeable difference.

Great addition
I appreciate carnitine and how it works. This mixes well and is easy to take. I prefer to add to pre-workout. It's a great quality product.

Tastes like Acetyl L-Carnitine
This product seems genuine from the taste, it smells like some old pills I had that melted. Unfortunately I am having a hard time using it because the taste is hard to swallow. I tried mixing it in my coffee, which didn’t cover up the taste and basically just ruined the taste of what had been a nice cup of coffee. I have yet to find a good way of getting this down. Maybe just a small bit in a smoothie would work, though I hate to t=ruin a good smoothie like it did to my coffee. I will continue to experiment and update if I find a good way to ingest this.

Excellent value but it wasn't right for me.
This is a review for Carlson - Acetyl L-Carnitine Powder, Free-Form Amino Acid.If you are confused about Carnitine here is a very simple clarification. Carnitine comes in L'Carnitine and Acetyl L-Carnitine. L'Carnitine addresses weight management and energy. Acetyl L-Carnitine crosses the blood brain barrier and supports cognitive health. I chose Acetyl L-Carnitine to support healthy aging of the brain. I can't say it worked for me, not for a problem with the nutrient but it was more about me. I was having a little energy problem with the use of the Acetyl L'Carnitine. I checked with a nutritionist and did a little checking online. It seems that use of this nutrient is not recommended for someone with my disorder. Period! I really wish supplement companies would remind you to check with your health professional. I should have known better to check as well since I have been using supplements for many years. Only now have I become interested in supplements to support cognitive health and was excited to try Carlson's Acetyl L'Carnitine since I heard and read the great benefits of Acetyl L'Carnitne and I knew Carlson's to be an excellent trustworthy brand . So my advice to anyone who is interested in using supplements and herbs is to always check first with a health professional that is very educated in herbs and vitamins etc. before going down that path.Otherwise.. I highly recommend this Acetyl L'Carnitine by Carlsons. They are a very trusted and stable family owned and female led brand. They are based in the Usa and they state they are FDA regulated and their products are 3rd party tested. I don't see any reference to Gmo however.
