Q: could this timer replace the old tp9

Can't say Ronnie, but it should not be used to replace an old controller where the HW and CW settings are non-independent.

Q: What will the warrentee date be on the orange sticker on its reverse side be upon purchase please?

No idea. In the UK it will be one year from purchase. Why worry, not heard of one going wrong and family and friends have them?

Q: How do I reset my Danfoss programmer?

If you open the flap on the front of the programmer, there is a little hole with R/S over it. If you use a small bladed screwdriver and press the button in the hole it will reset the programmer.

Q: If both red buttons are not alight does that mean the central heating is not on?

That's correct. The red indicators only light when the heating (or hot water system) is active. Note that the boiler will not be firing all the time the lights are on; it only fires up when the the boiler thermostat detects a fall in the system temperature.
