A must for crafters
This is amazing. You just press down on whatever you want to cut out and 'draw' round it with the blade and it cuts it out perfectly (it takes a few practices to cut it to the edge). It's great for cutting images out of boxes and other difficult to cut material. I wouldn't recommend it for children though - I dropped it and picked it up and it sliced my finger. It has to be scalpel sharp though in order for it to cut.

A bit fiddly and not easy to understand how to put it together
You need a bit of practise to suss the pressure of the blade on the cutter, otherwise it 'tears' rather than cuts and there's not much in the instructions to help. I watched a few you-tube videos for information. The idea is brilliant, but you could end up blunting the blades if you haven't got them in right or you're using too much/little pressure..

Excellent cutting tool that is safer than a naked blade.
Really good quality and very easy to use. Spare blades are provided and while you can cut shapes freehand with this, there are stencils and other guides that can be purchased for use with this item. In the past I've used a scalpel and relied on a steady hand to cut shapes out of paper and card. This makes it so much easier that I feel rather foolish for using the scalpel for all those years. This is definitely a better way. Unfortunately, cutting very small shapes with this is not so easy, as there is no way to support the paper/card while working on very small pieces. That however is a minor niggle considering how much time will be saved cutting out other shapes. All in all I have no regrets purchasing this item, and I expect to get many years of service out of it.

What a load of junk, off to the bottom draw!
So disappointed. The idea is very simple and in theory is a manual version of the expensive computer cutters that have been available for years which I have one. I wanted this so I could do quick cut outs of water slide decals, I need a clean cut so they are invisible on the models.I have tried everything, diffrent depths, difrent papers, cards etc. It simply gets part way and starts ripping. Utter junk. Unfortunately I had left it outside the 30 day return before I tested. This will now sit at the bottom of my craft draw with all the other useless tools and I will simply use my scalpel and fine scissors.

'fiskars shape cutter plus',i I ordered from an Amazon seller
This looked great on the picture, but did not arrive this color,as was brown, nor in the Fiskars shape cutter PLUS packaging. The packaging was not shown on the listing, but I had seen these elsewhere. A great price, just not the advertised item, & no padding where you would grip it, as seen on the picture. The description on the back indicated the virtues,no mention of the upgrade this was supposed to be. It had to be returned with Amazons assistance, which was excellent, & a no quibble refund when I sought their help to resolve this. A great advert for Amazon's after sales team, shame about the seller. Hoping this will be put right in due course. At least you are for warned as to what may arrive if you order this item, at the moment. If you want a 'brown Fiskars shape cutter',1 this is your item! Just minus the 'plus'.

Wonderful gadget that really does work...
WOW... was a tad worried about this - too good to be true and all that... but No! It's fantastic... have a practice (worth practicing as there is a knack to getting this right!), follow the instructions and off you go. It's brilliant and VERY sharp!! I use this with the Fiskars Templates and Craft Mat... a fantastic set that are a must together and a boost to any crafters tool set! Enjoy!

Certainly not a toy But a worthwhile piece of craft equipment!
I bought one of these, some replacement blades and templates when we were on holiday in the states! Craft stores out there are the size of our large B & QS! The item fits well in the hand, the blades are easy to use/insert and it cuts up to thick card stock really well, and has a good sturdy body, combine this with the templates and your well onto a winner in my eyes. A great piece of kit for any crafters toolbox and certainly not a toy due to the small but very sharp blades it uses. So give this a go as its much smaller, cheaper and easier than having to buy punches, and dies etc.
