IYV 6 String IYV-ILP-400FR Solid Body wilth Floyld Rose Tremelo Electric Guitar, Satin Black, Right, (ILP-400FR)

I read other reviews before I bought this instrument and I don't know if I'm lucky or something, but I got a good quality guitar: the action, the intonation, the smooth frets (polished) and the color is amazing. A detail that particularly impressed me is the contour that connects the neck to the body of the guitar and smoothness of the neck, anyone who plays this guitar knows what I'm talking about. Everything is perfect. I took the guitar out of the package, tuned it up and it was ready to play. This is my third IYV guitar, we all have to be honest.! I really have nothing bad to say, the instrument is as described.

The media could not be loaded. This guitar is amazing for the price!! And the Floyd rose trem works flawlessly.

The guitar is just ok. If you plan to upgrade parts then it is an alright starting point.The finish is a matte black, however the majority of the top has significant orange peel that was not properly finished.The Floyd Rose has a lot of stuff built up in front of the saddles. Not sure if this was an old part or possibly my guitar was a return from someone else. The trem holds tune ok unless you use it. It will not return to zero pitch and will be sharp.The pickups do have a nice sound. However the bridge model seems to have tarnish on the cover as opposed to the neck pickup. Again makes me consider this item was returned. The bridge pickup ring has significant warpage.The controls seem to be for Neck volume, Bridge volume and master Tone. However, the middle control knob, for the bridge pickup does Not function at all. The bridge pickup is always on full. It will not reduce in volume or hit zero. The pot is bad and will need to be replaced.The tuning pegs feel relatively smooth. There are much better, but the point is moot once you lock the nut.I was excited to get this and did not have high hopes. But I didn't expect the instrument to be in such bad shape for new. If you don't mind putting in the elbow grease and throwing some money at it for parts and repairs then it could be a nice playing guitar when finished.Again, possibly mine was a return or overlooked. There was not any quality control in this model if it truly was a new shipment.

Not a chance! And........maybe. This is my third IYV LP style guitar. All purchased from the Zon. First off, let me say this is NOT an ILS-300 with a floyd rose route. First and BIGGEST difference is that this guitar boasts a 25.5" scale length (fender like) as where the ILS-300 is a faithful 24.75" scale (gibson like) secondly, the body is thinner, and lastly, IT WILL NOT FIT IN SOME STANDARD LES PAUL CASES! And the ones that it does fit in, do not support it properly! Let me say this is the guitar I have been dreaming of for some time, minus the 25.5 scale length.When I unboxed it, first thing i noticed was a broken high E string. So, off to guitar center for a set of strings. I chose 9's, as the longer scale length tends to make the strings feel stiffer. When I re-strung it, immediately the High E was laying on the frets all the way up! I assume this is why it broke in shipping. The low side (top) of the floyd rose was standing 1/4" proud of the top where the high side (bottom) was flush. So a complete tremolo reset, truss rod adjustment, and fret level was in order. (The old green iyv lp's were pretty dern good straight out the box) this one is definitely a "luthier special" for sure. I did notice when I pulled the floyd rose out, I expected a barely metal plasticy "licensed floyd rose" but to my delight, it's a genuine floyd rose special! This tremolo on its own would cost you 100$!!!! And this 189$ guitar includes it?! MIND BLOWN! FACE MELTED! etc. The second issue was well known before I even purchased it. The dreaded "Destiny cnc" pickups. I thought ahead and ordered a set of Seymour Duncan AHB1N And AHB1B Pickups. They are Seymour's versions of EMG's 81/85. I didn't even try the stock pickups, as I have had 2 other iyv's and replaced them both promptly. Some folks like them, and they are 4 wire pups so if you want to get push/pull knobs and coil split, you can do that! However, my issue with them was, getting them to behave at stage volumes. So, in the Seymour's went. After about 4 hours of labor, this guitar became "what I was looking for" minus the scale length of course. I used to be a strat man, so it's okay. I mean, I'll live. But I must say it's now an amazing guitar, and I think I like the Seymour pups better than the EMG's. I can't stress enough, that this guitar has a ton of potential! But it requires a lot of effort to get there. Or if you pay a luthier, you're looking at 190$ for the guitar, 220$ for the pickups, and I assume, at least 200 for the labor required. So you're looking at 600$+ That being said, a kramer Assault is a very similar guitar. It is 400 some $, It includes AlnicoV pups, which are light years ahead of destiny's, but not nearly as good as the actives. Seymour, or EMG. And it is possible that, in this age of buying guitars sight unseen, the kramer may come in, in just as bad of condition. Doubtful, but possible. But after the work, provided the tech is good. There's not a guitar that will keep up. Huge les paul tone and a wiggle stick?! Fuggettaboutit! You'll spend at least 1000+ elsewhere getting all this. That genuine gibson like this will cost you 8k! And that ibanez is just a fancy strat. Also, I swapped a knob so I could quickly identify the bridge volume. And lastly slapped on my trademark "spirit animal" graphic. Who wants to battle?

The guitar was double boxed and packed well, and came in great shape. However, I noticed the locking screws and the pickup height screws had mismatching colors, dirty old strings, and the springs at the back are REALLY old and discolored, made me initially think that this was a returned guitar (hence the 4 stars), but for the price and this will be a modding platform it's okay, although for others this might be disappointing for a first guitar with a locking trem.Nonetheless, what changed my mind was that after cleaning the fretboard and changing the strings, setting up the intonation and leveling the Floyd Rose Special (yes, it's a legit one), I was mighty surprised how well this guitar was made and it STAYED in tune even with the aggressive Slayer divebombing (IYKYK). The stock pickups are actually decent, reminded me of ESP's LTD EC-256 line.So my tl:dr version of this is: If you're looking to have your first locking trem guitar, with a legit Floyd Rose Special, that is a set neck, matted finish, this is for you. Highly recommended for modders as well.I have to give the folks at Amazon a shout out. The driver didn't bother to check the front door at work (which they mostly drop off deliveries during the day) and marked initially that they attempted to drop off my guitar because it was after business hours and the warehouse was closed BUT the lights were open at the front, and my car was still there. Called Amazon, explained my frustration, and they fixed it and the driver came back.
