Q: It takes great pictures . But it wont stop taking pictures i have tried all the seting .i think it us defective.

How much time do you have set between pictures? What about the sensitivity?

Q: I purchased several gardepro game cameras over the last year, various models. how do i update the firmware or camera settings, or is this even needed?

It's highly unlikely that any off brand device will have any firmware updates. Most brand name devices these days don't even bother to update their firmware. That said, there is no reason to update firmware unless there is a bug or crashing issue with the device that can be fixed with software. Even if it can be done, it's probably not worth the risk if bricking your camera, unless you are experiencing some specific issue they have fixed with an update.

Q: Can i delete pictures from the sd card using the trail cam or do i have to download to my computer and delete them ? thank you in advance.

yes, and you can also use a card reader that you plug into your computer via USB port, no downloading, just "reads" the card photos. Delete using card reader or conversely, just download any photo you do want to download. If none, just delete using card reader. ((((((Here is a link to one as an example.
