Learning Resources Microscope
Well presented item. If you have a child with an enquiring mind, this is terrific. The magnification is not excessive however it is sufficient to develop and cultivate interest

Cheap & cheerful
A cheap & cheerful starter microscope. Image quality won't win any awards, but it's good enough to get an idea of what's going on. Cheap optics are always going to have their limitations, but this is good enough at a pinch, and if you're unsure how it will be received, then this is just fine. If a better microscope is needed, then you can always buy a 'real' one, and if it gets used a dozen times and forgotten, then you haven't spent a couple of hundred quid for nothing. Comes with pre-prepared slides, which is great for kids who want to use it immediately!

Plastic Rubbish - very hard to use
Bought this as a birthday present for our 8 year old but its almost impossible to use, the tuning required to get it to focus is almost impossible and requires a steady hand well beyond the capability of a child. The whole thing feels plastic and cheap and no where near the exciting science intro I was hoping for. Don't waste your money. I would have returned but I bought it 4 weeks before her birthday so the 30 day window had closed by the time we tried it. Awful disappointing product.

A great first microscope
A great first microscope. Bought for 7-year-old, who loved looking at the ready-made slides. Needs a bit of patience to control the zoom but ok once she got the idea.

Ok product, not the best
Ok product. Not the best quality lens. Daughter (8) enjoys playing with it but I can't see it lasting.

Great for first time scientists
My 6 year old granddaughter loved this on Christmas day. She can use it as it is and there is scope for expanding into more complicated things.

Great for a first microscope 8-9 years old.
Great first microscope for kids ages around 8 years. Perhaps a few more blank slides and so.e extra stickers would have been nice but there are enough to get started.
