however I love to tell them how wrong they were
I bought this before my daughter was born along with three cassettes. I was originally put off by people saying it was an expensive bucket; however I love to tell them how wrong they were. My daughter is 7 weeks now and we are still using the cassette that came with the tub and the other 3 are unopened. The reason I bought this was because I live in an apartment 3 floors up and couldn't just run outside to get rid of a dirty nappy. I have an open plan apartment so didn't want the nappies in the main bin either as you can imagine the smell from newborn nappy explosions. This tommy tippee bin sits beside our main bin and you can't smell a thing (it has thoroughly been put to the test with my little one) and I am overjoyed that it works so well that visitors don't realise the nappies are stored in there. My sister has been convinced to buy one as well after seeing mine as it is just so much easier and less messy and smelly than using a nappy bin or having to take dirty nappies outside overtime. The only gripe I have is I wish the lid was more secure my sister wanted hers to keep the dog from getting to the nappies. It does this perfectly but the lid is not always securely fastened and can be easily knocked off by a clever dog but for £10 you can't complain

Good product, but be aware of the running costs
Packaging-Acceptable but could improve by adding some more padding. My first item came damaged (no damage to box but cracked inside). How does it work? The cartridge has a long roll of liner. This wraps individual nappies and goes on until either the bin gets totally full or until to liner finishes. However, you may find it hard to empty the bin because you get the nappies wrapped after each other similar to mini sausages one after the other. You end up with a long line of wrapped nappies. The first time you use it, there are some areas you may struggle with. The information given in the instructions is not that clear at times. When you find the bin full, cut the liner and tie a knot at the place shown (I have provided diagrams)Running costs-You would need to change one cartridge about every 3 weeks (depends on how many nappies you change per day). A 3 cartridge pack can cost around £10-£12.Advantages-This mechanism helps to keep the odour of nappies out. You can wait for about 3-4 days (depends on how many nappies you change per day) before you need to empty the bin. This is especially useful at night time.Final words-This is a well thought out smart product, but be aware of the running costs. And the instructions could have been better. A link to an official video would have been great, rather than just a leaflet with diagrams which are not that well laid out.

Lifesaver in an upstairs flat!
Nine months on I don’t know what I’d do without this! Brilliant at keeping out the smell and so easily a part of our routine now. Don’t even have to think about how to change the lining now as it’s become muscle memory!Loses stars for the fluctuating cost of the refills, deals often appear for six cartridges but it’s usually when we’ve unexpectedly run out that they’re sitting at a higher price. Had subscribe and save for a while untilI realised wasn’t getting a good deal. The 3rd party refills are a nightmare, don’t do it to yourself you have a enough going on without shoving 3m of plastic wrap onto a bin at 5am.Cartridges last our breastfed baby around three weeks with changes 5 times per day. Capacity holds around a weeks worth of nappies but we empty it every few days anyway. You might not use it but these starter kits are so cheap it’s worth giving a go. Wouldn’t be without it.

Why on earth didn't I get this earlier?
I was getting rather tired of stinky nappy bins, whatever I did or however I cleaned it and went ahead and bought this. Somehow, I hadn't considered these nappy disposal units around the time my daughter was born as I thought it was just a waste of money. I mean, why would anyone want to spend extra for what is essentially a garbage bin after all? Or so I thought until recently. The package comes with the nappy disposal tub with one cassette already installed. I didn't realize this and had ordered a cassette separately. No problem, it is going to get used anyway. On opening the package, I thought it looked a bit smaller than what I had imagined. But I have no complaints. I suppose it would hold many smaller-sized nappies (i.e.) for babies, as opposed to my toddler for whom I change it once in 2-4 days. This does have a benefit that the rubbish gets cleared out frequently! The bin itself looks stylish, is very simple to use, and it's a doddle to discard older bags and to change the cassette. My daughter is turning 2 and I am actually going to start potty training her, so perhaps it wasn't the best time to buy this, but I still do think it is the right choice. Whatever little time it is going to be used, it keeps the bathroom smell-free. And, for 10 Quid, you can't go wrong.

Smart clean and useful
I bought this disposal tub for my visiting Granddaughter (age10 months). I live on three floors and the nursery is on the second floor...This is useful especially for overnight/late night /early morning changes. Otherwise it would mean treking to the kitchen/utility room in the middle of the night..or else having nappies hanging about in a warm room... The size is good..not too intrusive , but large enough for a day or two ( I would empty it fairly often). At the risk of sounding like 'overkill' at £1 for 250 disposable nappy bags .I wrap the nappy and wipes into a cheap bag,tie it up 'then' put it into the disposal system..So you do not get any smell coming back..I also put a sticky back cheap lemon air freshener block onto the inside of the base.... I gave this 4 stars and not 5 purely because the refill cartridges are expensive for a roll of thin plastic...but as I do not have a baby here all the time it is cost effective. Smart and hygenic. I was pleased with it.
