Best scent on test for non-toxic laundry detergent
I tested several essential oils to see which scent worked best for my homemade laundry detergent. Instead of standard laundry detergent, I use (biodegradable) soda crystals, a little bit of vinegar, liquid castile soap and about 15-20 drops of essential oil, depending on the load. I tried lemon, orange, eucalyptus, bergamot, grapefruit, ginger and lemongrass, and the lemongrass was definitely the best in terms of giving a long-lasting and fresh fragrance. Purely in terms of smell, I actually prefer bergamot and grapefruit but lemongrass seems to last longer and suit laundry (laundry smelling of ginger definitely wasn't the best). Plus, the lemongrass was the only one, once the laundry was dry, that my husband didn't complain smelt of hippies (well, the lemon too, but you need more of it to get a lasting fragrance).Alternatively, you can use scented castile soap to save adding essential oil but I'm not keen on the bizarre religious propaganda all over Dr Bronner's so prefer to buy unscented castile soap, or ClassiKool do an organic lemon one which smells fresh and is relatively inexpensive (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Classikool-Organic-Castile-Natural-Certified/dp/B074VBDB92/).

It's teatree oil!
I love this! The smell is so natural compared to others I've smelt. I used this pure on my skin in small amounts (this is NOT recommended) and states this on the bottle. However, I did not have a reaction and it cleared up an ingrown hair cyst Id had for months until I tried this had a rather soothing effect. I love love love it has the organic soil association on it. I also used this on my child's skin tag which literally disappeared after three uses in the evening (3 nights) I mixed it with pure organic raw shea butter. Unfortunately I've ran out and will purchase more, it's become a huge statement on my bed side table. And I literally recommend it to anyone who feels something is wrong. Dandruff - teatree oil, ingrown hair--teatree oil, - fungal on nail - teatree oil acne - teatree oil bad breath - teatree oil any problem - teatree oil! I swear this stuff is good for your soul happy I came across it.

Tea tree oil is a must have in our household. Only complain is that it comes in a small bottle which is great for taking it on holiday but not enough for us as we use it in large quantities and thats why we looked into larger bottles.Like with all essential oils, this will have some side effects. If you’re uncertain, please consult with a specialist or at least browse the internet before consumption. Important to note, undiluted essential oils can be harmful on your skin, therefore in most cases it must be diluted.
