Apple Mini Display to VGA - 3 Meters
I bought this a couple of years ago, I have used it regularly for running a projector and found it to be really reliable. The cable is thick and strong and the mouldings seem robust, the grub screws seems weak to look at but I have never had an issue over the hundreds of times I've used it over the years. There are no issues with moving laptop, as the picture does not break up as I have had on similar cheaper cables.I Would highly recommend this cable if you want to connect a MacBook Pro, or iMac onto an external monitor or projector. Just bear in mind you will need a separate 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack plug to go from the Laptop/ Mac to the Projector sound input or to the internal speakers in the external monitor. But for use on a projector to show slide shows its great. I use it on a projector and then use a 3.5mm to (Red/White) phono audio jack to a surround sound system and this works great. As a Mac user over the last 20 years I would recommend this cable for use on a Mac as reliable, strong and robust and great value for the money.

Delighted with this product
I bought this to connect my Mac mini, which has Intel HD 4000 graphics, to my 1920 x 1080 23” Eizo monitor.I had been using an HDMI cable to connect the Mac mini to the Eizo thinking this would give the best display but strangely the best option available was 1600 x 900, which I found resulted in rather fuzzy, unsharp text which was causing my eyes to tire very quickly.I did some research and discovered that the Intel 4000 graphics does not support high resolutions when connected to a monitor via an HDMI cable, and that a Mini Display Port to VGA Adaptor was what was required. I had been completely unaware of this. Fortunately such an adaptor had been supplied with the Mac mini so I used this with a spare VGA cable I had and when I rebooted the resolution was correctly set to 1920 x 1080. Excellent. What was not so good was that I now had a clunky arrangement of a Mini Display Port to female VGA adaptor with a male VGA plug attached to it hanging out of the back of the Mac mini and the weight of this untidy connection was in danger of pulling the tiny Mini Display port plug out of the Mac.What I really wanted was a length of cable with a Mini Display port plug at one end to go directly into the Mac mini and a VGA plug at the other to go directly into the monitor. I looked at various such cables on Amazon and decided to go for this Benfei model. I have so far only used it for a few days but am delighted to say it appears to be well made and works perfectly in giving me my desired 1920 x 1080 resolution. No more tired eyes!!

iMac to second monitor with more reliability than HDMI
I bought myself and coworker new acer monitors to act as a second screens for our iMacs in the hope of becoming more productive.I bought us both mini displayport to HDMI cables to link the two device together but unfortunately the result were hit and miss. Sometime on start up the screen would work perfectly, sometimes the screen remained black and the iMac screen would flicker. I tried restarting. I tried restarting with all manner of key combinations on the keyboard to reset all the bits inside of the iMac. All to mixed results, I was thinking that the drivers for the Acer just weren't stable.I saw the VGA port on the back of the monitor and thought I'll give a last ditch attempt and BOOM, the issues are all resolved. The monitor works each and every time. Turns out that MacOS is happier with tech over 30 years old than HDMI. I guess it's a bit like the old adage 'If it ain't broken, don't fix it'.Overall I am happy with the quality of the cables they appear to be well made and fitted the ports without issue. The packaging was minimally suitable also, I can't understand why some brands over package cables as once they are out of the box the box is going straight in the bin.Os if you are having second monitor issues with your Mac and want a cable that is well built, stable and isn't going to require a trip to the recycling centre this is the purchase for you!

It was a 5 star product, until three months later...
Item arrived on time, packaged well and worked perfectly....until it did not.I use this converter to utilise two screens with my laptop, I move my laptop away from my desk 1 day a week.About two weeks ago, I'd turn on my laptop and my primary display would come on (this uses the HDMI of my laptop) but my secondary display would not animate.I assumed it was my laptops mini display port and not the cable (as it is well built and relatively new, with limited amount of use).Today I (an engineer by profession) decided to look at what was happening, to my horror the mini display port end freely rotates. like old headphones if you wiggle it and twist it just right it will display the image but this is not what I expected from such a well reviewed product.I'd say avoid...

Poor durability if you're plugging it regularly
Just doesn't stand up to repeated plugging or any tension on the display port end. I use this to plug into a laptop which I use on my lap and the wire's connection into the Mini DisplayPort connector works lose until the picture becomes unstable before finally disappearing altogether a few days of use later. It's just the flexion that it is exposed to in my use case. If you fit this once in a fixed setting you'll probably be fine.

Excellent Product
Bought this so I could use two screens with my Mac. One screen is HDMI, the other is VGA, so needed something to make them work together.Looked at several different cables, but this one caught my eye because it looked robust in the picture. It was sent out quickly and arrived on time. When I opened the packet I was delighted as it looks better in the flesh, so to speak. I plugged it in and the Mac picked it up immediately and without issue. All working as it should. It's ergonomic and easy to handle. Good value and it seem the company who make it value their customers as i received an email telling me if there are any problems just drop an email and they will help. That is good effort.I gave it good marks because it is as described, works well and does exactly what I need it to do.
