Lovely malt whisky with yellow fruit flavours. Ideal as an intro to malt whiskies.
I've had several bottle of this over the last few years in my journey as a malt whisky newbie.I keep a bottle on the shelf as it's a reliable, gentle and flavoursome malt which can be bought at a bargain price. It has the flavours of yellow fruits with an oaky element. It has none of the sharp or sour tastes that can be found in many young whiskies and the alcohol kick is well controlled. It is a great value malt to keep to hand as an introduction to malt whisky for those visitors that fancy trying malt whisky for the first time, and such a pleasant, neat tipple that you may keep a bottle in your collection.

Smooth and enjoyable!
Treated myself to this Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve and it didn’t disappoint. Lovely smooth whisky with a nice bit of sweetness and a light fruity flavour that’s not too overpowering.Goes down very easy either straight or with a splash of water. Has a nice creamy finish too, making it very approachable even for people who might not be big into whisky yet.Giftbox it comes in looks quite smart, so it would make a cracking present as well. Only thing I would say is it’s maybe not as complex as some older Glenlivet editions, but for the price it’s an absolute steal.Highly recommended for sipping or gifting!

Smooth
This is in a quality gift box and would make an ideal present for any whisky lover. I’m not a huge fan of whisky, but recently discovered that a good single malt is very different to the stuff I’ve had in the cupboard before. I thought whisky was hot and burny but after reading a couple of books about production and ageing and speaking to a couple of enthusiasts, I realised it’s far more complex.I really like this. It’s very smooth with a very light smoky flavour that comes through after you’ve swallowed. It’s light in colour and smells divine. I don’t really know how to describe the taste, but there are lots of different hints of taste and they’re all lovely. I like this a lot. It’s slightly milder than my current favourite, a Jura, and I think I’ll buy more of this Glenlivet Reserve.

good value for money but not exceptional
The Glenlivet Founder's Reserve is a pleasant and accessible single malt whisky that offers great value. This 70cl bottle of Speyside whisky is double matured in oak casks, which contributes to its smooth, sweet, and fruity flavour profile. At 40% ABV, it’s a balanced choice that suits both seasoned whisky enthusiasts and newcomers. The taste is classic Glenlivet—lightly sweet with hints of ripe fruit, making it an easy sipper. While it may not be an exceptional dram, it’s undeniably enjoyable, and the presentation in a gift box makes it perfect for gifting. In terms of value, it's hard to beat, offering quality Speyside whisky at a reasonable price.

Lovely stuff!
A very nice Scotch Whisky.A lovely, rounded, sweet, Speyside style Scotch. Not smoky, like the ones from western Scotland.

Stunning choice in budget
I seldom write reviews but this one is surprisingly good with this price (I bought in £24). Creamy, honey, caramel, a beautiful and enchanting scent left in the glass after it’s finished. Not to mention it came with a pretty box which also makes it a great choice for gifting. Very happy with the purchase and will likely to buy again.
