DERNORD Immersion Cartridge Heater 120V 500W Hot Rod Heating Element Replacement 1/2 Inch Thread (120V 500W)

This worked well in a buddy's RV water heater. Gets the water hot fairly quickly.

It is 1/2 npt it wasn't labeled in the description very well but it heats up fast and seems to be holding good with the abuse that I have put it through

Not quite what it’s intended for, but set this heating element into an aluminum cylinder for guitar side bending. Coupled it to a PID thermal controller, thermocouple, and solenoid. Heats up quickly… 375 F in about 12 mins.

I probably didn't use this the way it was intended for, but it works for me. I wrapped it in some aluminum sheeting until it fit into a 2" pipe and hooked up a rheostat and a power cord and made a side bender for guitar making. it works!!

I used this cartridge heater to make an in-line heater for my aquarium. The quality seems to be very good. The threads are clean and fit appropriately in npt pipe fittings. The leads are nicely covered with braided sheathing, the first initial 2” protruding from the body covered by an additional rubber sheathing. The body is a good quality stainless steel. I felt comfortable enough with the product as is to simply attach a male plug end and then plugged it into my aquarium temperature controller. I’m very pleased with this product and will be ordering more in the future.

Good heater for the price. I run mine at 110VAC and it pulls about 200 watts.

I was afraid when I ordered this the threads would be 1/2" NPT which is actually about 3/4" in diameter, which is a bit large for me, I wanted to use it for a model steam boiler & this is going to use up more space than I wanted to give up. but a good price for the unit & I don't see anything else wrong with it.
