Great clip once you learn to use it.
I needed to keep my stethoscope with me but not around my neck. This was a great choice. The leather is thick and of excellent quality. The stitching secure and clean. I have no doubt this will last years. Oh! The clip is great. It has an extra lip inside to help it stay secure. Also if you are someone that likes to use magnets to hold things it has a round area that can be used with a magnet. The one catch is how to use it. The picture shows the diaphragm in place with the eartips crossing over the bell. I tried it and unfortunately it kept falling out. If you bring the tubing around it takes up the extra space and the tubing will keep it in place... See the pics. Great purchase!!

A must for an RT...
I’m a Respiratory Therapist and stethoscope is a must for me. Over the years, my neck has become sensitive to the material of the tubing that is draped across my neck. I cannot wait to get my stethoscope off my neck soon enough after each and every round. This leather holder seems to be the answer to my problem. It is light and yet holds the stethoscope securely in place. I have seen some plastic holders on my co-workers but they soon abandon them on the account that they’re so flimsy and keeps on falling off. I’m confident of this one though. Hopefully, it will last a long time.

Decent quality, but the Batclip is still better
I started with a batclip (the original leather stethoscope holster) and after an early failure of the Velcro, I purchased a secure-a-scope which utilized a plastic belt clip (like ones used on Cellphone belt clips). That product failed at the weakest point (the plastic belt clip). Enter this device into that market and I’ve found something that’s a decent contender. The batclip is the best for quality of materials. The leather is honestly the best quality. The metal clip stays secure, and the back of the holster, where the bell of your stethoscope rests, is rigid. But that holster costs almost $30 with no useful warranty. This Hipclip holster apparently has a lifetime warranty. I haven’t utilized it yet, but I will update once I’ve had a need to. So far, I’ve been using this holster for about 4 months now. I open and close it multiple times during a 12 hour shift and I work 3-4 days a week. The Velcro is still perfect. My various scopes (from a Littmann lightweight SE to a Cardiology III) have been well-secured. The metal belt clip is durable and snaps on my belt very easily. It would also secure to scrub pants easily, but I’d imagine that the metal rubbing against soft skin would be quite uncomfortable. So far, I’ve only found one flaw with this holster and that is the softness or flexibility of the back where the scope bell rests. In my batclip, this area was rigid as though there was a thick piece of plastic inside attached to the hidden inner part of the belt clip. On the hipclip, this areas feels just shy of floppy. It doesn’t affect performance necessarily, but it does require a firmer grip when sliding the belt clip onto my belt loop. It no longer attaches as easily as it did when I first used this device.I still think of the two holsters, the batclip is better-made, but what’s the point in having awesome leather that lasts forever and a perfect belt clip if the Velcro fails early and there’s no warranty for replacement? If this holster lasts for 2 years without falling apart, this will definitely edge out the batclip. If they honor their no-hassle warranty, this will also be a better deal than the batclip. As it stands at this point, I’d probably purchase the batclip again because it overall feels more durable than this device (again, the only point of failure being the Velcro after roughly 18 months). But I’m going to keep using this one just to test out this warranty at some point.

Great quality!!
Wow! This stethoscope holster is well crafted. Solid stitching and heavy duty leather. Velcro is grabby and will not unloop accidentally. Metal belt tab is easy to place and remove.

A honest trustworthy review
I purchased this after a classmate suggested it to me. The Velcro so far is holding up just fine after 2 months or more. The leather has yet to rub off on my scrubs. I constantly use my stethoscope all day as an anesthesia student. I would recommend this item. It seems to be sturdy all around and made of quality. I have not tried any other products, this is my first purchase. The clip is very strong, but sometimes depending on where I place the holder it can press into my hip (more superficial) but everyone is different, so don’t let that deter you. It doesn’t leave any marks or cause irritation.

Not the Original Bat Clip
I'm a long time user and fan of the original Bat Clip stethoscope holder. My mistake when I searched using the search term "Bat Clip" is that this holder came up and I placed the order prior to realizing it isn't the real thing. The design is similar (see photos, pink are the genuine Bat Clip, brown is the HIPClip), but quality and construction are not the same. I do like the larger metal clip on the HIPClip, but I'm not convinced it's any more secure. They are both genuine leather, but the leather of the HIPClip is noticably thinner and it concerns me that it is going to be less durable. Also, the velcro area and type do not appear to be as large or sturdy.

Great item for providers to do not wear white coats
I saw something similar on an anesthesiologist. At first I did not like the Velcro. If you think about it, this is really the only way to have an adaptable, secure hold no matter what or how you” carry “. Doesn’t look cheap or flimsy. Design, construction are good. It’s a fine line between having something that is too rigid and bulky vs something that will slip off your waist band or belt. This hits the spot

Very pleased
As a medical student, using scrubs with minimal pockets and lots to carry around, I’ve got to say this is a must-have! Strong Velcro, decent plastic clip and good quality leather. The clip would be better if it were made with 2 pieces and a spring rather than a single piece (I’d pay more for this!) but it’s still quite good overall.
