Manfrotto Reproduction Arm, Double Camera Attachment #131DB

Just what I was looking for. Allows rough adjustment of tripod center column to get within focus range for macro shooting. Sturdy and fits my manfroto 190x perfectly.

Works perfectly with my new Manfrotto tripod. Just was I was looking for. It’s sturdy!

Perfect for copy stand style work and food photography! Only issue I have is if you screw it straight on the the center column, you are limited by the screw tightening point to dictate where the legs point out below. Can obviously be solved with an additional tripod head on the column first, then the manfrotto arm, in order to control horizontal movement of the arm.

This simple solution is a winner for me. I am accustomed to a camera stand in the studio but when on location a stand is impractical. This item allows straight down overhead shooting that is difficult to achieve any other way. You should buy a counter weight when you get this to prevent your camera from tipping your tripod over and loosing your beloved camera but aside from that it is the cheapest most functional solution I have found.I almost bought a tripod that allows the center column to convert to a horizontal position but when they do this you loose the ability to raise or lower the hight without adjusting the tripod legs. The ability to raise and lower the horizontal arm on a center column is very useful. This is the best solution for this need that I have found.

So I found that you can convert this to 1/4 threads with the pieces it comes with. You have to screw off the 3/8 male that comes on the middle mount (for tripod) then screw it on to the camera end. Hard to explain but it DOES work for 1/4 threads. Happy I didn’t have to buy extra parts.Unfortunately, the part that screws into the tripod is convenient but there is nothing to stop the arm from rotating around once tightened. I feel like this is a design flaw for sure.Lastly, you need a counter weight or else it will tip over. Which I did expect.

This ain’t a cheap date, but if you need to shoot downward, get this. I also have a joystick head, makes a perfect combo

Very handy and I can place my camera in an angle that I really want. in short I will eagerly recommend this gadget to every photography enthusiasts!
