Ego knows best
No more bending over lifting a heavy snow shovel. Ego makes a good product and with the power head i can attach many other fixtures. This thing will clear the snow like no tomorrow, and i find it best on my deck where i cant get the snow plow and it hurts to shovel with my conditions.

Powerful
It throws !! Extremely handy at removing snow. Would recommended evaluation of weight of the unit with larger battery installed. May not be suitable for certain applications based on an operators’ physical limitations.

Interchangeable parts for two different yard tools.
I didn’t use it yet. When you put it together the weight was so so heavy that I decided to just use a hand shovel.I will try it next winter season.I also like that I can use the upper attachment on the lawn edger and on the mini snow blower.

Recommend this product!
Sure beats shoveling sidewalks! Worked great for our sidewalks and driveway when we got anywhere from 2-10 inches of snow. Not sure how it would work with much more then that but perfect for the average snowfalls in the midwest. Nice back saver.

Uncharacteristically Cheap for EGO
This Snow Shovel attachment is very poorly designed. The ergonomics for hand placement are not great and leave your wrist in an awkward position. The weight distribution between the head and the battery leads to it feeling worse on your body than just using a normal shovel. Not having the shaft off center also leads to awkward handling of the shovel when doing rows. But the worst part is that I did not even get halfway done with a 4 car driveway before a 1 inch, flimsy stick, got stuck in the auger and completely broke the connection between the shaft and the auger rendering the entire thing useless. For what it is worth, when it was working, it threw snow very far and had very good pickup, leaving no snow behind. But the design and build quality of this tool is just so poor it is not worth even trying to use this.

Works well, breaks easy
I already have an Ego 2-state snow blower but purchased this for lighter snowfalls and for my sidewalk because it has a step that the snow blower doesn't work well with. My first impressions were good, as it takes the snow all the way down to the concrete, even better than my snow blower does. However, my excitement turned to disappointment soon after, when the auger hit a small rock on the driveway that must have fallen form a passing dump truck or flung from a car tire. The rock chipped the plastic auger and from that point forward, the shovel has a vibration while running, due to the auger now being off balance. It's still usable but the vibration is annoying. A replacement auger is $50 on Amazon but I was able to find one for $30 shipped, elsewhere online. I will use the shovel as-is until it gets here in a week or two. Another thing that I find annoying, it will hang up on any and all cracks in the pavement. I have a paver stone walkway and it hangs up on stones/bricks that are ever-so-slightly raised. I find it helps to lower the handle some to change the angle of the shovel scraper but then I get a sore back from bending over. I've also noticed that the speed will vary by like 50% but that is probably due to the power head, not the attachment. I will run this on the slower speed from now forward so any hard object being hit by the auger will be less likely to break it. I wish there was a speed adjustment knob like the leaf blower has, as it doesn't require much speed to do the job. One other thing that this doesn't have that their snow blowers do is distance adjustment. I must be careful to not shovel in the direction of passing cars, my parked cars, my house, the neighbors houses. This could do damage to property, if it throws a hard object like rocks or even ice. So, overall, I give it 4 stars for performance and 2 stars for design and function, for an average of 3 stars.

This thing is no joke!
I am becoming an EGO fanboy. I already own a mower, Weedwhacker, blower, two-stage snowblower, and now this one. I bought this one for when we have snow, but it’s not quite enough for the two stage (big) snowblower. We live in Western Pennsylvania, and I usually have to use the big snowblower once or twice a season. For the rest of the time when it snows, I just use a hand shovel. This thing easily handled 4 inches of snow and did my entire 16 car driveway, including my patio in the back. I bought the bare tool because I already own four other EGO batteries. I used the five amp hour battery for this job and even after all of that snow blowing, I still had all bars of power on my battery. The battery that comes with it I think is a 2.5 amp hour battery which is what I use for my blower and Weedwhacker. I think it’s important to remember that with these lithium batteries they need to be kept indoors in the winter time- charge them indoors, keep them indoors, and they will stay good. It took me about an hour to do the driveway and the patio. With a hand shovel, it’s around 2 to 2 1/2 to do all of that. If you’re unsure of which electric brand to switch to, in my experience, EGO is by far the best.
